New management team is destroying your business at Marion Woods.
I’m going to be frank. After 9 years of living here I am so ashamed of how far this facility has fallen from the top to the bottom.
You have hired three people who worked together at Walgreens.
A clique of unfit workers who are not doing their job.
Please interview the residents.
Do you have any idea how many people have left due to these issues!??

Suggestion
My biggest issue is that there is nothing in writing for a new resident. Such as "what day is trash day?" What are the times for meals? Just stuff that new residents don't know already.

Taking a necessary big step
I have lived at Marion Woods for over a year. It is meeting my needs very well. I have the perfect apartment, 3 meals a day, light housekeeping every week, delightful entertainment and activities, shuttle bus for my dr appts, hair salon and shopping. I have made some very dear friends. The staff has always been most friendly and accommodating.

Need Big Improvement
To whom it may concern:
I am very disgusted in how Marion Woods home turned out after so many nice staff I met quit. There are very few staff now because of the salary and being overworked due to shortage of hand. I am trying to get my mom to move out of there after living there with her for one year and one month as a guest. The experience there was horrible when I visited mom in 2021. I don’t know where to begin. I was not supposed to get a rent raise of 8% after staying with mom a year but got it six months before and the manager of the place couldn’t help mom to remove the rent increase. Mom was so upset that she cried over her rent being increased 8% also and gets increased every year. They are being taking advantage of with the increase of rent and the controlling of the food. The food situation has gotten really bad in the sense that a lot of things are being removed from the menu and hardly anything left for one to choose from that many of the residents are going out food shop.

From Good to Bad
When my Mother first lived here about 10 years ago, the establishment was run the way it should be run. Things changed each year after about 3 years to progressively worse. First German roaches invaded the place. I purchased everything I could to help my Mom's room. She finally moved out of it to another room.
This year 2022 the place is short staffed. The food is below par, and sometimes if my 93 year old Mother is too ill to go to dining room, she gets her food and its cold. Her room sometimes isn't cleaned for several weeks. For the amount of money she pays, this is totally unexceptable. Something needs to be done, these elderly deserve comfort, good food and exceptional service. They have earned it. My Mom orders groceries so that she can fix meals when she can't make it to the dining room! That should NOT be necessary.
I'm appalled at how this place has gone way downhill.

I have lived here 7 years. The ship is sinking ??
At first this.was very well run. Since the latest merger with Atria things have become very much worse. Residents are treated with disrespect and like unreasonable people. Food has become poor and service is almost rare.
New manager is not concerned about residents.
She should be replaced before the ship sinks.

I was very impressed with Marion Woods. The facility was extremely nice and clean and the staff were all super. Some of the staff had been there 9 or 10 years so they have some continuity and that really stuck out to us. We were able to have a meal and the menu was extensive and the food and service was great. If we can get the money situation figured out we would love to move mom here.

This is a nice and beautiful community. The residents seemed happy during the time I visited my loved one. There has been some staff turnover. Gary and Rick are the two that helped me the most and they are good at answering my questions since I am out of the state. If I have to leave a message they are good at returning my call.

Mom's One Year Anniversary
We have very mixed feelings about Marion Woods, the facility is wonderful, staff are very friendly helpful wonderful folks. For Mom it is like home, she enjoys her many friends and feels like it is her home. However, there is one major failure; transportation! They advertise they furnish transportation for doctor appointments, shopping, and local tours. However, during the one year Mom has been living here they have had a bus driver for maybe three months or less. Mom gave up her car and driving to live here and it has been a significant problem to get her to appointments and shopping over the past year and the situation has not improved. If transportation is part of your decision to live at Marion Woods, this is NOT the place for you as they provide very limited transpiration. Likewise their activities are limited, Mom often feels trapped and that she doesn't get out to see things, shop, appointments or group activities. Sad to be a prisoner in your new home.

Since your mother moved in at the peak of our covid restrictions, our main focus was to keep the residents safe and unfortunately that limited our time outside the community for things like group outing. We were also in search of the perfect bus driver who would be part of the team. We are very excited that we have found a wonderful new associate and she has already started, with the bus schedule being back to regular routine. We look forward to planning more group outings while still keeping our residents safe, and sure hope that your mother can participate and enjoy along with the other residents!

Our family was able to do an in person tour and our experience was great. There were not many restrictions so the tour was pretty open, the place was very nice and it actually was our first choice. The gentlemen we worked with was very nice, had great communication, answered all of our questions and showed us many rooms.
