Its a nice place. I have been very pleased with the care they provide. The level of social activities, so the residents get to know each other and develop friendships. She plays cards with her friends a few times a week. Housekeeping checks the rooms daily. Anything the residents need washed gets done twice a week or outside in a basket if it needs done asap. My loved one would like more variety in her meal choices. They don't seem to have many diabetic diet options. They provide transportation to their doctors appointments twice a week scheduled in advance. The billing is automatic withdrawal.... Read more

It's a good, clean place. We haven't really had issues except for a few things. The food is not great. Also, they don't necessarily come back in and check on my loved one during the night when they say they will. They don't give you much information in the beginning on logistical things like when laundry is done and when they come clean the apartment. And we didn't even know they had mailboxes up front at first. They come in and check my dad's blood sugar when they're not supposed to, and they keep charging me for it as medication management. They do end up taking it off the bill when I bring it to their attention. It also takes a while for them to bring food to the residents at mealtimes. Other than that, it's okay. The staff for the most part are pretty nice and easy going.

I chose Manor Lake Hiram because of the convenient location and the atmosphere is very bright, open, and cheerful. I think that the activities director is the best, she is very personable and really tries to have a variety of activities that everyone like to do. They have several different cooks, some are very good and some are not so good. I think they could improve on the variety on the menu as well, sometimes they overserve the same meals and we get tired of it. Overall I would recommend the facility to others.
Manor Lake is wonderful. They jumped over hurdles to help me during a difficult time and showed a lot of empathy towards our family which is what sold me. The directors have all been great and easy to work with. They are a little short staffed at the moment but I know that they are doing their best under the circumstances. My parents biggest complaint has been the food, they do not think there is enough variety. I do know they are trying to hire additional staff to help. If they know there is an area that they are needing improvements in, they are very transparent and honest about it. Anything rated below a 5 is due to covid and the staffing issues, but once that improves I think everything will be a 5. I would recommend them to others who are looking and already have.
The facility was shown to us on the assisted living side. Our mom went in on dimensia side. She lived there less than 3 weeks. Her medications were never in the system b4 she was sent to hospice care. Saturday morning medications were after lunch. Her room floor was sticking from a spill, I moped it myself after being ignored. Mom had a buzzer and still waited 20 min for bathroom assistance. Under staffed and very disappointed in care received. Mom knew enough even with dimensia to know care was inadequate. Ask to see dimensia side if visiting facility. Smiles at the front office are just that. Ask to meet with director on dimensia side and what you should expect. No activities that I ever saw. Kudos out to a few good nurses. Oh yeah our refund is still pending. 3 months later after repeat emails.
I like this place, I would recommend this community for your loved one. The staff are great but they can be hard to get a hold of sometimes. They have activities like family feud, movie night, and puzzles for the residents to participate in.
Our tour with Manor Lake was good. It is a bigger facility and had more bells and whistles, but we were looking for a smaller more intimate facility.
We chose Manor Lake Hirman because we felt like this met the majority of our needs. It was very clean and the location was really good for us. I think the value for the money is fair. The room sizes here are really good, he is in a studio apartment that has a patio which is great since he has a small dog. food started off really good, they lost chef and now he is complaining about the food saying it is bland and simple. Overall I would recommend to others looking.
The community is very neat and clean, and the staff is very friendly. The community just feels like a fancy hotel and real feels homey. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience. The food could be better and the portions are not big enough.
As of today, I would recommend the community. Some of the main problems I had was with the top administration and they resigned. recently
Our loved one is in memory care and they have had some turnovers with the staff members. The ones we really knew and felt comfortable with are now gone. However, we really liked the organizational and flow of this community. The landscaping is just gorgeous. Our loved ones room is very nice. They have recently changed chefs, so we would have to give the food a three out of five stars.
Manor Lake is relatively new, and the value for this community is great. The staff members give more quality care, they are excellent in every area. The care services are excellent. The executive staff very very honest with what we were going to expect when we moved our loved one in. They were true to their word and worked with us when we moved her in during COVID. They were exceptionally careful with her, and very personable. My mother loves bingo, and the other activities they have to offer. My mother is in love with the food. Her favorite is the crab salad and the crab cakes. She is very happy with the food. The rooms are beautiful, they are very spacious. There is a lot of natural light and she can open up the windows in her room. This community was very impressive when we walked in, we really like the proactive care Manor Lake has.
Great community - I feel very comfortable having my father there. He loves it!
Great facility, everyone works extremely hard to take care of all the residents and puts their whole heart into care. Memory care is top notch in my opinion and significantly better than any in the area. The rooms are extremely nice and everything is clean.
Beware of Manor Lake Hiram. It appears to be a decent place but the memory loss side is completely devoid of daily activities for the dementia patients. The food is not something you would feed elderly residents. One week they served spaghetti three times to the residents. That is a ridiculously cheap meal and unacceptable. They claim to be low salt but they serve potato chips and not the baked kind. The living area is just a few chairs arranged around a tv. It is rare that there is anyone leading an activity for the memory loss residents. When they wash the resident’s clothing, they just dump everything from that resident into a single load and the clothing comes out with little pills all over them. The clothes all look terrible after one wash. Just think twice before sending your loved one there-they will just vegetate there.
The Manor Lake assisted living side is gorgeous but the memory care side seemed like an after thought. The room layouts were the best of all the places I visited. The feel was more like a hospital cafeteria and waiting room with a few couches.
