I was so impressed with my stay
I would rate Julian Estates a 5 plus! On the value, I can't really rate if it is a good value for the money because I wanted to move there because of its proximity to my family and didn't check out any other facilities. Overall I loved living there and I loved the Administration, staff and residents. Very sad to leave.
I really enjoyed the cleanliness of the facility and having a dedicated housekeeper to clean once a week. The laundry room was also spotless- a fact I appreciated when I did my own laundry. The meals were mostly excellent although I would have preferred to eat at noon. The evening meal was too close to the noon meal so sometimes I would skip it because I wasn't hungry. I really appreciated the enthusiasm the Administration and staff had for celebrating special events, decorating the facility and generally just planning outings and fun events frequently- example mocktails and cake for birthdays. I have never enjoyed playing games but I was starting to get into the "game scene" and it was a great way to meet the other residents and have fun, too. The residents were very welcoming and it was a wonderful way to pass the time
in good company. Although I never personally used the bus services for doctor appointments or shopping, I know most of the residents did and were pleased with the services. The dining room was very well run and the serving staff were excellent. Most of the servers were young but very polite and respectful and made an effort to get to know the residents. For me, Julian Estates was everything I wanted in Independent Living.

Would recommend but need more staff
Julian Estates just like many other communities are experiencing some staffing shortages so sometimes they get busy and aren't able to answer your request in a super fast timely manner, however the staff that are there are just wonderful and extremely friendly to speak with.

A Place that Your Dad or Mom Needs
This is a really great place. My first impression was that it is a very luxury place that is budget friendly. The community offers housekeeping, laundry services, meals, basic cable, and utilities that are included in the monthly rate. All the rooms have a kitchenette.
The staff are very friendly to work with if there are any questions or concerns that come up. The maintenance team is very helpful. There are pull cords that the residents can pull anytime that they need something, and they have staff 24 hours a day on site.
There is drop in care service through a third party that is reasonably priced.

I Would Put My Mom And Dad Here
They are very attentive to her needs. They spoke with me and called me to make sure things were going ok with my loved one. If you can do independent care, this is a great place. They have a movie theater, self serve ice cream 24/7. If my loved one needed the help, I would have other family members stay here as well. I do not like the fact that the dining options are not vegan or vegetarian options, or food for people without teeth. The time window to get food when the resident wants would a great update. The snacks where taken away because the facility thought snacks where being hoarded by a few residents in their rooms so it removed snacks for everyone. If they controlled that better so the snacks would come back out would be better. The staff is great.

This is a great place to live.
They've been phenomenal. The food is great. They have lots of activities. The staff is very caring. It's almost like being on a cruise ship. My apartment is very nice. It's a large studio with a kitchen area and living room area. And there's a separate area for a bedroom with a large bath. I would recommend Julian Estates to others.

My loved one is happy here. This is the most important to me. There are some cliques within the resident population.
The food has been up and down since my loved one has been here. It tends to be too fancy. There are times that my loved one doesn't know what is being served on the menu, it would be nice to have simple meals.

It is a beautiful facility, the people are very friendly and it has great amenities
Julian Estates is a beautiful community, it is clean and the people are very friendly. This was the most reasonably priced out of the other communities we had looked at. They have been through several chefs and the food is up and down. You can contract for additional care, but basically you are on your own unless you need that additional care, they also offer a lot of activities.
