Hello, I hope to share some insight from what I was able to experience at the "Gardens@Wakefield". It was necessary that I transitioned my elderly father back to an assisted home in Alabama after his wife passed suddenly. The Gardens set the benchmark for what I should look for in caring for my father. The Gardens are located within a quiet, lush area of Wake Forest. The cheerful staff here were kind and courteous and being quick to offer assistance. The cottage like dining area offered generous portions and had many choices, all were delicious. There were abundant activities to be had here and as well shuttled to many areas of Wake Forest. The residents who I had the pleasure to meet were all wonderful and felt secured here knowing that their needs were quickly resolved. The apartments were well laid out and spacious. Having a balcony to enjoy the outdoors is a bonus. I was fortunate enough to relocate my dad in another great facility. Thanks for reading!!... Read more

I toured this beautiful property this week and was impressed by all aspects of the community. I was welcomed warmly by both staff and residents, their remodel is gorgeous, the residents were dining on lunch and the food looked delicious, the community is immaculate, and there are lush gardens, too! There are lots of activities going on, quite varied and seems like there's something for everyone.

Being a Resident for over 6 years I have found this to be a HOME for ever. All you could need is covered by your monthly fee. The social life is great. All you possible want are here for the asking. The meals are good to great.

I have been happy with the community - the staff, the meals, the activities offered. I have been in and out of The Gardens at Wakefield over the last year and the renovations that have been done are wonderful. If you have someone that needs Independent Living I highly recommend taking a look.

Although our stay was short (We had an opportunity to move closer to our daughter) we were very satisfied with the Gardens at Wakefield. We found the staff and residents very friendly and helpful during out stay. The food was very good and many options were offered each day. The Gardens is very dog friendly and there are ample places to walk in the community. The location was close to shopping, restaurants medical care and vet care. Prior to our coming to The Gardens the common areas were recently renovated and were clean and inviting. There are many activities offered to the community, however we did not participate due to other personnel issues. We recommend The Gardens at Wakefield.

This is a great place to get more. More space. More value. Larger than most units at competitors and love that they have in-unit laundry facilities. Staff is fantastic! Definitely worth a visit!

My mother loved her wonderful stay at the Gardens. We both thought the staff was wonderful and she made several good friends there. They were all very friendly, thoughtful, supportive and professional and offered a lot of amenities and activity options. When my Mom was temporarily unable to attend meals in the dining room, they were very accommodating and delivered the meals to her for free. We only moved her to me closer to me and my family. I highly recommend the Gardens at Wakefield.

The difference between The Gardens and many other independent living apartments is the staff - you see day in and day out that they are people who care about the residents, guests, and what they do for a living. Thanks for doing what you do so well. Care.

My mother is at the Gardens at Wakefield, and after 2.5 years, she's still very pleased. Her apartment with the full sized kitchen lets her continue to enjoy her hobby of baking. Her large 2 bedroom, with washer/dryer, looks over the beautiful garden and gazebo. She has made nice friends, enjoys the activities, and lives close by, so I can visit often. The Gardens at Wakefield was recently renovated and redecorated in a beautiful, modern decor. The kind and compassionate staff gives us all a sense of safety and security. What's not to love?!

The new ownership has and is continuing to create an unpleasant environment for seniors. The new furnishings in the common areas are not suitable for elders and are difficult to manuver. The building now gives a gloomy and cold atomsphere upon entering. Everything is one color which is depressing. Although your meals are included in the flat monthly fee ownership has now decided that should a person wish to pickup and take their meal to their apartment or even outside, in the garden, they will be charged an extra fee. Many, most of the residents really, are very unhappy.

Everything at the Garden is wonderful for both moms, the entire staff and management are excellent. Professional, friendly and caring service. The major complaint from our moms and others is the refurbishing was done in a very modern, cold and sterile environment. The population tends to be older and likes warm and cozy atmosphere. The continuing rise in rent causes concern and worry.

My mother, almost 92 years old, was a resident at The Gardens for the last 9 years,. She has now move to an assisted living facility because she requires more help in her daily living. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her time at The Gardens. The staff treated her with such love and respect; they became her family. She made so many dear friends! In her first 8 years, she was very active and participated in many of the planned activities. She enjoyed Bingo, the hand bell choir, frequent musical entertainment as well as many off campus activities in her earlier years. I am so grateful that my mother was able to maintain her independence for so many years in such a beautiful, caring facility.

Our experience moving mom into Wakfield Gardens was very seamless. There were minimal issues moving her in and they were all resolved quickly and with kindness. The set up of mom’s account and and her meals and and cleaning services haeve been very good. Mom’s personality type is more of an introvert and she has memory and hearing issues, so she doesn’t reach out to other very much. Therefor, having an ambassador is very helpful for mom. The facility is undergoing renovations which is always disruptive; however, they have tried to minimize the disruptions during meal times. The staff from managers to office staff to dining staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.

Nice facility, very friendly staff, common areas not quite as nice as another community. My in-laws liked the food better at the other community. Also, apartments were more open and spacious at another community they chose. Costs were similar.
I visited several residents here and they really enjoy living at the Gardens. The staff is exceptional and present. There is always something going on to keep the residents engaged.

Overall, I'm happy with this facility. It's clean, staff is friendly, and communication with the family is good. They're very responsive. They have some remodeling plans in the works, which I think will be good when it's done. The only suggestion I have would be easier entrance/exit access. I think they have some push button/automatic doors, but they don't always work. I toured several communities and this was the most friendly and welcoming. I felt at home here. Food quality is good, but I wish they had more variety. That would help those who are on a more restrictive diet like my mom is. I would recommend them to family and friends.
