Our quiet, one-story community features a large courtyard, fireside living room, and an array of care options and amenities for residents seeking memory care services. At Hickory Hills, we understand the challenges that can come with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. That’s why we work hard to provide purposeful programming, continual education, and transition assistance for residents and their family members.
Just under 25 miles from Nashville, Hickory Hills sits across from the Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville, Tennessee. We’re in close proximity to shopping, dining, and recreation options as well as the TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center. Residents love the local wildlife and can easily explore nearby parks and golf courses as well as Old Hickory Lake and the Rockland Recreation Area.

The dining service was good, however the meals were just adequate. Some meals were better than others, but it was very institutional. The activities seemed to be geared more towards the woman than the men, but the activities director was wonderful and very hard working.
Make sure you know who is taking care of your loved one. Make sure to stay involved with your loved ones' care. The community is understaffed and they have too many residences to focus one on one attention. I would recommend this community if your loved one is mobile and social.
I have recommended Hickory Hills to friends. The more active you are with your loved one the better care they would get. The layout and room sizes were good. They had a nice outdoor space with rocking chairs, gardening, and ducks.
Great place. Had my fingers crossed that he would be accepted. Looks very iffy now.

This place is very nice. Mom has made friends here in residents and staff. I do wish they had more activities for higher functioning folks.
This place has been good for my mother. They see about her medical needs and the food is good. I wish they had a few more activities for higher functioning folks.
These folks took us in when we were in crisis. [Name removed] especially has been great!
After checking "A Place for Mom" and several other sites last year, I visited several in the Hendersonville, TN area. I heard negatives about many including Hickory Hills; but, after visiting Hickory Hills, I settled on them for my wife. After the first few months, I tried to post a 5 Star review on Facebook, but the page wouldn't allow more posts. There was a negative post which I later through research traced back to a disgruntled former employee. So, in looking at these reviews, please consider "the source." After the corporate office changed the Facebook page I posted a 5 Star Review about 6 months ago. This present 5 Star is after almost a year; and, it still holds. If you are looking for memory care, I believe that Hickory Hills is the best place you can place your loved one. I am not saying that other independent living/ assisted living places with a memory care wing aren't for you; but, if you just want Alzheimer's care, Hickory Hills Alzheimer's Special Care Center is 100% Alzheimer's care and that matters. Alzheimer's Care is a very specialized and difficult area; and, Hickory Hills has maintained experienced and caring staff that have trained all of their new employees to maintain this approach to serving their population. If you don't think there should be new employees, you don't know the nature of this business. From maintenance, to laundry, to daily activities, to food ordering and preparation, to nursing and administration, this business is very difficult; and, Hickory Hills does it exceptionally well. I am very satisfied with my wife's treatment and care; and, I am sure you will be as well.
Family members have been at this facilty for more than a year. We have the usual problems...lack of communication, management turnover, staffing issues to the point they had to use agency people. The facility is attractive and there is new management in place so I hope for the best. Change doesnt happen overnight. The food is very hit and miss and the employees agree. Some caregivers are great and others are not dependable. Same goes for the nurses. However, with that said, the staff went the extra mile taking care of my dad when he passed away. It is all inclusive pricing but is high compared to other places. I am very involved and come almost daily.
