This is a nice community; however, they allow animals. If you don't care for dogs your might think about another community.

Thanks for visiting our community and sharing your thoughts. We have seen the benefits of pets in their interactions with residents, and pet therapy has also been beneficial for all our residents. We only allow small breeds, the owner must be able to provide for proper care, and the pet must be well behaved and always on leash. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
This is a good community. I would recommend you check to see if your loved one's needs would be met here. The community is good at trying to get the residents involved in activities offered at the community.
I would tell others not to move your loved ones into this facility. My mom was here less than 2 weeks and fell and left for hours. They had no clue how to take care of someone who was blind.
The food sometimes arrive a little cold, they do feed you a lot and sometimes its good but other times not so good. The activities are still pretty limited due to the restrictions, and our biggest issue would be the communication. There is no communication with the management and the families. The driver who takes the residents to and from different place is absolutely awesome.

Please contact me at the community at your convenience. Thanks for your consideration.
There seems to be a variety of activities, they send out newsletters show casing all of the activities they have and include different pictures. We think the value is exceptional compared to other facilities and our loved one has a private bedroom and bathroom.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about our community. We're glad to see you are pleased with the variety of programs and that you find our newsletters informative. We're also glad to see your loved one likes their apartment, and that you find our value to be exceptional. We appreciate the review!
We've had a great experience here. The staff are friendly, and they call you back with a good response time. We had experiences other places where they wouldn't call you back. Here, the business etiquette is handled well. It's a very clean place. Bang for the buck, this was the best place that I found. I've been well pleased with everything that's been going on with my loved one.

You also made us smile regarding your great experience, our friendly team and our business etiquette. We're honored you choose Forest Heights and appreciate your 5-star review!
I have recommended this community to 3 of my friends so far. The communication is good between the staff and the family is good. We get weekly updates and they return calls quickly.

CL, we know communication is important to our families and we're delighted to see you feel it has been excellent. Recommendations from our residents and their families are a very high honor and we are thrilled to see have you recommend us multiple times.
I complained many times and they ignored me. If there are any issues on the weekends it has to wait until Monday during business hours. We also had many medicine errors and as a loved one I had to get very involved. There are a couple of very great workers here, but overall it was not a good experience and I would not recommend them to others who are looking.

I am the Executive Director and would very much like to talk with you when you have a few minutes. Exceeding resident and family expectations is our goal every time, and since you feel we fell short of that goal I would very much like to speak with you personally about your concerns. Please contact me at your earliest convenience, and hope we are able to talk soon.
Some of the staff members were nice and some were not nice at all. The sales manager just wanted to sell the community, but they could not care for our loved one.

Ida, I am the Executive Director and am sincerely interested in your comments. Our goal is to provide a warm and inviting residence and was sorry to read you do not feel that in all your interactions with us. We know that Forest Heights may not be the best fit to meet a resident's needs in all instances. In that event, we strive to help families find the best placement for their loved one. I would like very much to have the opportunity to speak with you about your personal experience with this process. Please contact me at the community at your earliest convenience. Thanks in advance and I hope we are able to speak soon.
We chose Forest Heights because when we visited it seemed to be clean, no odor, but when we went back in to move her in there was a strong odor. The room sizes here were a little on the small side but they weren't bad. The food was fairly good. We did have issues with medication, she went without one of her important medications for 5 days because their doctor did not call it in, this happened a few times. Overall, I would recommend, but just pay extra close attention to the medicine.
The staff is nice but are overworked, they aren't able to keep up with everything but they are doing best they can to attend to the residents, however the aids were very good to our loved one. The food served at this community was fine. The layout was okay, and the rooms were about adequate in size.

Thank you so much for your feedback and your kind words about the team members that work with your loved one. I am the Executive Director and want to assure you that we not only meet state regulations for staffing, as a senior living company committed to quality care, we strive to exceed what is required. That said, exceeding resident and family expectations is our goal every time and since you feel we fell short I hope you are willing to have a discussion with me regarding your observations. Please contact me at the community when you have a moment to chat.
I feel it is my duty to expose what has been going on here. The facility has been under lock-down since March due to Covid-19. Families of residents have not been permitted to visit or see loved ones now for 4-5 months. This would be understandable if it was being properly utilized to protect residents. Unfortunately, it is being used as a way for management and many staff to avoid any scrutiny or accountability. Until recently, around the week of [date removed], most of the staff, management, and MedTech contractors have NOT been wearing masks or PPE, when in patients’ rooms, around residents, or even in the facility in general. Management, staff, and contractors go to and from the facility daily exposing themselves to pathogens and possibly Covid-19. I do not know what the management under executive director [name removed] or her team thinks exempts them from following Governor Roy Cooper’s mandate to wear a mask. I don’t understand how senior care/healthcare workers could be so uncaring as to not wear a mask to protect residents. Recently, they have started to wear masks and are requiring residents to wear masks when indoors. The Covid-19 outbreak began in the US in March, when the facility went under lock-down, yet they only began requiring masks in July!?!? I know for a fact many staff still ignore rules and mandates and do not wear masks when in residents rooms or confined areas. The residents who live here on average pay over $4000 per month to live in a building where the air conditioning is not working properly, the staff treats them rudely and risks infecting residents with Covid-19. The staff is often stealing the food meant for the residents meals out the back of the kitchen. For the astronomical amount of money it costs to live here the food quality is abysmal! There are some amazing, wonderful, goodhearted staff here, who have been the only positive aspect of this facility. But the bad deeds and mismanagement tarnish the good they do. The ULTIMATE HYPOCRISY is they are not allowing family or outsiders to visit their relatives for safety concerns. BUT THEY ARE ALLOWING FAMILIES INTERESTED IN PLACING A RELATIVE TO LIVE THERE TO COME INTO THE FACILITY AND TOUR. They just check the temperature at the door and lead them all throughout the facility. It’s ALL about the MONEY$$$ here! I hope the State, County, and Media are alerted and open a full investigation into the dangers the residents have been exposed to by the noncompliance of management and staff!

I am the Regional Director of Operations and would very much like to speak with you as we treat feedback like this very seriously. At Forest Heights we are committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of our residents and team members. To reduce the risk of exposure and prevent the spread of the virus, we have implemented a COVID-19 testing protocol for all residents and staff, continue to diligently enforce enhanced sanitation and infection prevention protocols, utilize personal protective equipment, and practice appropriate social distancing. Note that restrictions on non-essential visitors remain in place and we are not doing in-person tours of the community. We will continue to aggressively evaluate our policies and adjust them when appropriate, with our first consideration always the well-being of our entire community. Please contact by calling the community and asking to leave a message for the Regional Director of Operations. Regards, Melissa.
Do not put your loved one there unless you are staying with them around the clock. There are not enough CNAs to care for the residents. My loved one was left sitting in a chair all day long, not changed or cared for. If I asked the staff to do anything , it was a hateful response or they said "you will have to wait your turn". They did have great activities offered for mobile residents. I would not recommend this place to anyone under any circumstances.

I am the Executive Director and was disappointed to read your impression of our community. Exceeding resident and family expectations is our goal every time, and since you feel we fell short I hope you are willing to have a discussion with me. Please contact me at the community at your earliest convenience as I would very much like to speak with you personally about your experiences.
My father started out in assisted living but moved to memory care after a week. Overall I am pleased except for the housekeeping in memory care. I have been told there will be dedicated full time staff for this unit soon. I know memory care is expensive and my father currently shares a room but the space is really small in my opinion for how much pay per month. I hope to move him to a private room when one is available. I am pleased with the staff and feel have good communication. I would like to have had more spaces outside his room to visit but that is limited in this memory care area. I would advice if your family member needs physical therapy check your insurance first - the PT that is offered by the Five Star Community on site was not in network and I did not realize it and got stuck with a large bill. I found another company that comes to this community that is in network and my dad is just as happy. In general my dad’s health is much better because he is getting his meds on time and eating 3 times a day - all of which he was forgetting at home by himself.
If you are considering placing a loved one(s) at this facility, I beg you to reconsider! This property is part of 5 Star Senior Living, but there is nothing 5 star about this place. My grandparents have lived here since [date removed], in those 3 years, there has been at least 3-4 different executive directors. Each time, promises of improvement and changes to come are said, and then either the ED is reassigned or leaves, and the poor work culture returns. My grandparents have received rude and intimidating treatment from staff on a consistent basis. It costs a considerable amount of money to live at this facility and yet, in spite of this, oftentimes residents are only given small or half portions of food and leave the dining room hungry. The quality of the food that is prepared is less than appealing. In addition to rude staff, there are often medication errors in dispensing my grandparents medications. My family has repeatedly had conversations with the executive directors and even to the company’s corporate office and that has fallen on deaf ears. There are some very loving and wonderful staff members that my grandparents and my family dearly love, had it not been for them, it would have been completely unbearable here. Unfortunately, their good deeds get overshadowed by the substandard treatment and poor performance of job duties by some staff. I shared this same review on google. I want to ensure that the word gets out to the community on the extensive problems at this facility and the poor company culture that exists here as well as at its corporate. These are Unacceptable conditions for my grandparents and fellow seniors, many of whom are military vets to have to endure! If President Trump could see this place he would say, “Drain the Swamp!”
Loud entryway with much activity. Friendly staff, however, they did not know I was coming or who I should be meeting. Memory Care had linen and trash carts sitting in the hallway with a strong odor upon entry into the Unit.
If you care about your loved one DO NOT consider this place! They do not know how to take care of dementia and Alzheimer’s patients . Moved my parents here and within 6 weeks had to move them both out because they discharged my Dad for normal Dementia behavior. My parents have been married for 67 years and they never apologized or cared that they were splitting up my parents and that we had to take him home to our homes that were not equipped to handle the elderly. He did not hurt himself or anyone else but was severely traumatized by the experience of living at Forest Heights. The management is awful! He is now thriving at another facility and there has been no problem at all! I am writing this review to prevent others from going through the worst experience of their lives. It is hard enough taking care of your parents but I had no idea that a facility that you pay for and trusted could be so cruel and uncaring!
My tour of the Forest Heights Senior Living Community went very well. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We really liked the place but the reason we did not choose it was because of location. My parents wanted to be closer to my sister.
Have the people that have written previous reviews ever been in this facility or had a loved one living here? The attitude of the administration and staff is one of apathy. No one is accountable for their actions except for the residents and their families. The photos that appear on this website do not tell the true story. Meals in the dining room look nothing like what is advertised or taste as good. This facility's administrator is not receptive to concerns and is not willing to see that this becomes the facility that is advertised. Management at Five Star seems to have no interest in fixing the problems at this facility either. Advise anyone looking at Forest Heights to talk to families that have someone living at this facility.

Mom admitted with hospice care. The communication between facility staff and hospice staff very good. The meals are delicious and residents get nice selection. The personal care is very good. Difficult for me to rate activities since Mom has been unable to participate yet.
