Our father has lived at Elmcroft since November of 2017. We are very happy with his care and he loves his 1 bedroom apartment. He needs help with his day-to-day activities, and they are there to help him. We visit often and the facility is always clean and inviting. The med-techs are familiar with his needs and make sure both his prescription and non-prescription medications are given promptly. The activities are sufficient and their Lifestyles Director is constantly urging everyone to attend. The directors often join their residents in the dining room to check up on them (our father loves watching them serve coffee!). In the span of a few months he had 3 minor surgeries, each requiring time consuming post-surgery care needs. Each recovery was handled very well. Elmcroft does a great job of helping coordinate his health care needs (nurse practitioner, podiatrist, home heath care, etc). Finding a home for an aging parent that needs help with numerous activities of daily living is stressful and fraught with disappointments. We think we hit the jackpot!Reviewed on SeniorAdvisor.com
Some employees are unfriendly--sometimes a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch. Food is decent, rooms are nice but bad housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, bathroom). Has a beauty salon but it is rarely open. They have a "sign-in, sign-out" front door policy for residents and their visitors. There are few activities--a short Bingo game twice a week, a "scenic drive" (30 minute bus ride in surrounding neighborhoods or sometimes to Dairy Queen or Amy's Donuts), fireside chitchat, hand massage, "resident choice" (which means there is nothing), occasional games . They are "fair" about giving out medications--a few times I had to go looking for them. On the whole, I would not refer.Reviewed on A Place For Mom
My mother entered Elmcroft when she turned 98. She had been living alone in her house until she had a significant fall. She has celebrated her 99th and 100th birthdays here and will soon celebrate her 101st. She is very happy with her life at Elmcroft, as is her family, who visit often (we live in Tucson). Her first comment after she moved in was, "Everybody calls me [name removed] here!" She loved the constant opportunities for company, and soon formed her own dining group. Since then, she has had a few falls that have set her back, but staff have always given her the best of care. They are warm and personable, and keep me informed of all that happens with my mom. We are grateful that we have moved her here for the last stage of her life and are comfortable leaving town knowing she'll be taken care of.Reviewed on A Place For Mom
