Adult Foster Care Facilities like D&P offer excellent care at a reasonable price. All of our experiences with Daniela Petrascu and her staff at D&P were positive.

The owner seemed to be very friendly, caring, organized and easy to talk to. The community was too far from family, and not the right fit for our loved one.
It was excellent. [name removed] was very polite and professional as well as thorough. Based on our experience with D & P Special Needs Center we would recommend this community to other families.

There's not a lot for them to do activity wise. One caregiver, [name removed], is amazing. They are a bit pricier than others I've seen but they do really care about their patients. And everything is spotless.

From start to finish, they are friendly, reassuring, and professional. They have personal investment in each of the residents. They make all of the food from scratch, and they do a good job of keeping the residents engaged. I feel like it's a great value. They do not raise their rates when a resident becomes more impaired, and they include incontinence products in the cost of care. Those products alone are very expensive, so that adds a lot of value.

[name removed] is the best! They are respectful to the family and residents. My loved one loved it here. They always put my loved one first, and was very accommodating. My loved one was at peace and relaxed by being there. The food was homemade. It truly felt like a home. This was [name removed]'s passion, and you could tell. It was more than you could ask for, for a loved one.

My mom was a resident at D & P Special Needs Center for the last 2 years of her life. The center was the ideal place for my mom who had advanced Alzheimer's disease. The small family atmosphere made life less hectic and stressful for her. We had mom in a larger facility but the care was very inconsistent and the size was overwhelming for a person with Alzheimer's disease. The owner and staff at D & P cared for my mom as they would care for a family member. Mom was always clean, well-fed and well cared for. Support staff was also available--nurses, doctors, physical therapists came to the house as needed. My sister and I were extremely touched when at our mother's passing the owner and staff member on duty were also in tears. My family was comforted at knowing our mom spent her last years in such loving care.

My Father John was cared for by [Removed] and her team of caregivers. I can't say enough good things about D & P Special Needs Center. I was first drawn to the positive energy I felt when I spoke to [Removed]. I knew my father would be in good hands under her care. The home was immaculate, the care was kind, intuitive, attentive and professional. The family atmosphere provided is a real plus in helping a resident feel at home. The care team helped to support us through this difficult step in our family life. We will be forever grateful.

I am very pleased with D & P Special Needs Center. It is extremely clean. I thought it was sweet and charming that the staff paint my moms nails. I just thought that was such a special thing for them to do. They try to keep my mother stimulated. She does not participate in activities and they are sensitive to that and don't push her too much. I cant see that there is anything for them to improve on here.

I could not be more pleased with the care my elderly mother with dementia received at D&P. There was always someone nearby to respond to her needs and requests. She was genuinely happy there. The Petrascu family and their hired caregivers love their residents like family. They are great at solving problems with creative and loving solutions. The visiting doctor was readily available. The food was great. I can't think of one thing to complain about. Maybe not the right home for someone who is still going to Bingo and doing those kind of activities, but for a less able person it is a wonderful setting.

It's a small place so there aren't a lot of residents, and that can limit the activities a little. They seem to make a lot of home cooked meals and are very responsive to our requests, and they use fresh fruits and vegetables. There is no problem with communication at all if I want a call twice a week they will call me twice a week, and if I call or email with a question, they get right back to me. One of the reasons we chose this over some of the places that offered more activities and room, is that the level of care is so good. They are honest, they say what they do, and they do what they say. They are very responsive, and very kind, loving people.

They are very good, excellent! The only thing that I can think of is just simply having maybe a little more room to move around in, there is only one big common space but there is a large table there. Other than that, the food is good, the service, the help, the care, all of it. The physician that comes in is good, it's just a great place. We chose it for all of those reasons, the value, the personal care, the staff, the cleanliness, they were just great.

Daniela, Paul and the staff at D & P Special Needs Center are all fantastic. The facilities are up to date, clean and exceptionally well maintained. My mother lived out her final days as a resident at D & P and I could not have been more pleased with the care and attention she received there. The D & P environment is that of an intimate family setting, while at the same time providing a level of care tailored to the special needs of each resident. They are equipped to address special dietary needs, mobility challenges and can arrange for on-site therapy. A physician regularly visits and is also available on call as needed. There was never anything my mother needed in the way of care that D & P could not provide. The warm, loving, caring and interactive environment at D & P is, in my view, far superior to that which is available at large, institutional facilities and it comes at something close to one half the cost. D & P is state licensed and is Medicaid qualified.
