They can improve on communication with families and residents. We have had issues since move in. No new resident orientation so my loved one doesn't know all the rules and stuff. They promised things that have not happened. Some staff members are not professional. Issues with management not returning calls.

I'm not very pleased. Up front, they are all so friendly and they make it sound so wonderful. I know in these times and days they are short-staffed. Meals are always cold. They do try, the activities are okay. With the care - they're just not all on the same page and I could not recommend them to anyone right now. After 5pm I don't see any care whatsoever nor do I see any security. I don't know, I'm just really up in the air right now. When going and touring, they of course, made it all sound wonderful and like they care. But, right now I'm not sure, they may be working on it. I know it's hard to get employees, but for the care, there should be no exceptions. I know of numerous fallings of the elderly and they don't seem to be around. There are some exceptional people there, but when it comes to care and issues being handled - there always seems to be a dead end. It goes nowhere, nothing is taken care of and nothing seems to be addressed.

We toured at Champlin Shores because the location was familiar to us. I liked it okay. It didn’t feel as nice as the place we chose, but it was also much older. They were doing renovations to update it though, and it was definitely still a contender as we made our final decision.

I think this is a very nice place and that it is well run and well organized. They are very responsive to me when there is an issue with my loved one. they alert me all of the time when there are any issues. Sometimes they don't return calls immediately and there are things that I may need to communicate this can be hard but for the most part this is a great place and I would recommend it.

I would start off with a tour and a meeting with the community director. She will help you through the community and it would be a wonderful experience for you and your loved one. They have activities like dancing, bingo, tea parties and more for the residents to do at this community to stay active. They also have birthday parties for everyone in the unit.

It was a struggle to in; however, it was well worth it. There was some concerns by the staff on what would and wouldn't work; however, we worked through them together for my loved one. There is medication management, toileting, dressing and hygiene care by the staff for my loved one. If there is a concern or question I have been able to get them resolved with the appropriate team members in the community. Arts and crafts, music, gardening, celebrations, and more are some of the activities for the residents to choose from. My loved one likes the food for the most part. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

We chose Champlin Shores because of the close proximity to our house. The room sizes at the facility are adequate, my dad seems to be very happy here. The staff are always extremely friendly and he has settled in well. I would recommend them to others looking.

I didn’t really like Champlin Shores at all. I thought it would be very isolating for my loved one. It was like being in an enormous apartment complex. Even the memory care patients had a full apartment. We didn't want her to simply be alone with neighbors and not feel like she was part of a community. It seemed like she could get lost in the shuffle it was so huge. The apartments were nice enough though. We just thought the setting was too independent / isolating for our loved one.
When we first moved in, it was fabulous. The original staff bent over backwards to meet our needs and get everything done in a timely manner. And it was just fabulous. But they are going through a lot of transitions right now with staff leaving, and they're having a hard time getting replacements. So we're just struggling a little more. The staff they do have are fabulous. They're all great people. The transition for nursing staff has been a little harder. They're just having a hard time getting up to speed. Overall the staff work hard to keep the facility very neat and clean. And they're always willing to come in promptly and do extra requests like carpet cleaning. The maintenance staff has been great. My loved ones love the music programs but don't really participate in a lot of the activities. The food is good overall but can be a little bit repetitive. But the staff in the cafeteria have been wonderful. There's just been a huge transition, which has made things more difficult, for instance getting responses back and getting a medical care plan in place. But they were good to refer us for hospice care. That was a very appropriate referral at the time, and it's working well.
Mom seems to be doing okay since moving here. Anytime I have visited her the community is clean and well maintained. The staff is always friendly and nice. Mom seems to be liking the food she eats 3 times a day. She doesn't have the personality to participate in any of the activities but I am hoping the staff try to get her involved.

I toured this community for the care that my father needed. The staff was nice and able to answer the questions that we had on the care that is offered. The menu seemed to have a lot of good choices that would have been offered. I like the community for the activities that are offered for the residents.We would suggest that others tour this community for the care of a loved one.

For the most part, our loved one is happy at Brookdale Champlin. It has been a little bumpy trying to acclimate and get used to the schedules and routines. It could be that it is due to a change in the management and the turn over in staff members. The staff is working with us and has been good about trying to resolve the questions and concerns we are having regarding our loved one. We are happy that they make sure he is taking his medication regularly. We also like the fact that he goes to the dining room to eat his meals and socializes with other people. We brought in some of his own things to decorate his room and make it homey and comfortable as possible. There are nice walking areas around the community that my husband has taken him to get some exercise and fresh air. We are hoping that everything settles down and it will be a good fit for our loved one.

My dad was only here about a week before having to go to the hospital and was unable to return to this location. The staff was nice and was willing to do what ever was needed to be done however my dad's condition proved to be more than what they could handle. The community itself was always clean and well maintained from what I experienced.

My parents are doing great since their move to this community. Everything is working out well, and I'am comfortable with their move to this facility. They are safe, and in good hands. They have a good staff, and they are taking good care of them. The community is well-kept, they do a good job with the cleanliness. They are nice activities offered, and good meals provided. This is a community I would recommend, it is working out well for my family.

Brookdale Champlin is a very warm and inviting community. My mom has a nice apartment with windows that provide nice views of the well-maintained landscaping. The staff is friendly and taking good care of my mom. My mom thinks the food is okay, I haven't had a chance to dine there with her yet. They offer activities that the staff tries to encourage the residents to participate in. There is transportation for the resident for shopping trips and other excursions. I would recommend this community to others.

I toured this community and liked the staff and the clean environment. The staff did seem helpful in the questions I had. The community appeared to be clean. They have activities that are an offer and a nice variety on the menu. I would recommend that families tour this community for care.
