Some minor improvements would certainly help a lot
After move-in we were advised the In-home 24 hour Doctor had retired with no replacement yet. The second month there were a few sporadic Doctor visits. Daily activities promoted on their website but not delivered could easily be organized regardless of Covid-19. In 4 months there we were not aware of ANY activities such as Bingo, Bowling, Card Games, Arts & Craft, Garden Parties etc. as advertised. There was no live entertainment ever. To provide this, as per their website, there are three potential areas; living room, sundeck, or rear yard. Any entertainer could safely set up in one of these locations to provide much needed entertainment for the residents. The back yard has been divided in half by a high fence to provide private area for the tenants who rent the basement suite. However, the needs of the seniors who are in isolation should be a higher priority than generating more revenue, and being able to move around a spacious, landscaped yard without tripping hazards such as cracked and separating concrete would go a long way toward improving mental health and quality of life. The personal care workers themselves were very caring and excellent. The meals excellent. But we feel with very little effort the resident’s quality of life could greatly improve.
