  • Not all it's cracked up to be

This place is not as wonderful as you may think. [Name removed] sold us a bill of goods. A chef on staff? Every meal is microwaved. Sufficient staff? 1 staff member for 6 people is not sufficient. The staff doesn't even interact with the residents. We found our family members laundry was not done every week as we were told. When we tried to do it ourselves we were told we weren't allowed. What did we get for $6000.00/ mo? Not much.

  • A Concerned Family

We moved our mom into Castlewood Care with many promises of the great care she would receive. It was not long before we discovered we were sold a bill of goods. We were told the meals would be homemade by a chef using organically grown produce with home baked desserts. Some of the meals were Kraft Dinner and frozen pizza with ALL meals heated in a microwave! Same meals over and over again. The only source of entertainment was a board game of Bingo and the occasional sound of music coming from the owner's office. The TV did not work for the time mom was there. Staff turnover was high so there were no relationships established. A doctor was supposed to oversee all residents' general health and medications. The doctor NEVER did a full exam of our mom yet prescriptions were changed. When our concerns were brought up with the owner she was defensive and often rude. Our decision to move our mom to another facility was the best decision we made. Castlewood Care has the makings of a great private facility for the elderly however the lack of good management combined with many false promises left us wishing we had never placed our mom there.

  • My first and continuing opinion of Castlewood is that it is a safe and peaceful home for my Mom.
