I would say they are a great community and I would recommend them; however, their care plan pricing is very high and it is because of that that I scored them low on value for cost. I do think that the care the residents are receiving is very good, however.

Staff is wonderful
The staff is wonderful. Honestly they appear short staffed, but everyone here is so nice and helpful. The only thing I would add is that they do have housekeeping, but it could use a bit of improvement. Additionally the food is a bit bland and commercialized, but I understand they are cooking large amounts for elderly so I suspect that is pretty common.

For the cost involved, Brookdale Vero Beach South was no where near the facility that we ended up choosing. If you put everything together into a big picture, I think this facility should be $1000 less than what they are charging.

Overall, a very nice place. Nice common areas and dining. Staff were great. Access in and out of the building could get tricky on the weekends. And room cleaning could be more frequent.

Our family had an in person tour and it was an amazing experience, their marketing person we interacted with directly was phenomenal. The location was very pretty, just a gorgeous amazing building. We thought it was so spacious, and they staff seemed more then willing to adjust and accommodating to the residents needs

It is not a big big operation so the staff are able to get a lot of personalized care. The manager [name removed] has just been fantastic. The staff really do care about our loved one and the other residents there. For everything that is offered and the quality of the care the value for the money is good. Our loved one really enjoys the music and singing and we would recommend them to other families

a small caring community
The only issue we have had is that some of their Covid guidelines were not always followed. This has changed and they are doing much better now. I would absolutely recommend this community to others. the community is small and all on one floor so there are no elevators or stairs.

Brookdale Staff is Warm and Works with My Mom as an Individual
The community makes an effort to make the activities available for the memory care unit and to keep the residents engaged.
My loved one is in the memory care unit. The activities can be hard in a group environment. The community has really worked with my loved one on a one-on-one environment. They found that my loved one enjoyed golfing, and they have set up a putting area for her to do in her wheelchair. My loved one thoroughly enjoyed this.
We wanted to have a medication stopped being given to my loved one. This was hard for this to happen with the breakdown of communication.

Don't Come Here
If I could select "0" Stars I would. All I need to say is my 81 year old Mother was struck by a Staff member during her memory care stay, then given a "immediate termination" status due to her behavior. As a dementia care facility that advertises, "providing compassionate care", that statement should be deleted from their mission statement. To finalize, an increase in staffing or more extensive training by the Administrative Staff before this facility has any chance of improving. Would not recommend this facility for any type of care!!!

Very nice community.
My mother moved in recently and things are going very well. The staff is friendly and answers all of our questions. The facility is very clean and kept up. The food is good and fresh. They offer activities but I'm not sure if she is participating in any of them.

Could not be happier!!
When we were first going to move my mother into the Brookdale Vero, she fought us all the way. When we took her to move in, that same day she was convinced that she loved it! She has not asked us to go home at all. When [Removed] takes people on tours, my mother takes over the tour of the memory care. They even gave her a badge with her name. She is so happy to be able to tell future families she is so happy there. The food there is great, I know we made the right decision.

Lovely Community
My tour of this community was a nice one. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The community looked great. I really enjoyed seeing all the residents, they were cheerful. This location was just a little to far for us. Overall it was a lovely tour, and I enjoyed it.
