Overall our loved one is happy but there, we get a calendar list of activities that are available for the residents and there is a wide variety for them to choose from. Our loved one is on the memory care side and they actually did not confine them to their rooms. There was in person activities as well as some virtual activities for their families to participate in. For Valentines Day the activities director gave us the tools we needed to paint along with our loved one virtually. They she would come pick them up and bring them to our loved ones, and we always received a gift basket with a bottle of wine. The activities director there has just gone out of her way to help our family with the transition during covid.
The staff is all very friendly, there is one in staff member particular that is just outstanding. She really goes out of her way to help all of the residents, however sometimes there are not enough nurses available to answer questions when we have them, but our loved seems very well taken care of. They have a musical therapist that would come every month before COVID, and she was excellent. When we first visited this community it was very pleasant, and seemed very homey. It didn't have that nursing home smell. They have a good selection of rooms to choose from. Our loved is in the perfect size room, it is a one room with enough space for a small living section and a bedroom. When we ate there the food was delicious.
They have a 1:7 ration for nurses to residents in the memory care unit. They are trying to do one on one activities. The community is like a family, everyone is very friendly and caring. It is a good place to be if you have to go somewhere.
WE love them. Our favorite thing is the atmosphere. You feel comfortable right when you walk in the door. Residents are not confined to a chair they are active. Room sizes are great. They have two dining rooms, one for folks that are more independent and one for those needing finger foods and a little more help. Their staff is always friendly. Great communication they contact us with everything from big to small which we appreciate.
Perfect, can't afford her income to low even with the State supplement.
My wonderful mother has been with Brookdale Assisted Living for almost 2 years. I am very pleased. They have caught every illness that needed the ER and Hospital Stay. The staff saved her live when she choked on food. If they had not acted so quickly she would have died. It was in the dining room and she had already stopped breathing. They were able to get the obstructed food out of her airway and get her breathing again. A trip to the ER, but I owe Brookdale employees her life. The are friendly to us. They work hard. I owe them. I am pleased.
This place is run by a corporation so it is all about getting as much money as possible ftom you. This place will literally bleed your relative dry. They do not accept Medicaid so once the money runs out you will have to find another place. The directors change on a monthly basis. I’m guessing one of the main reasons is because they are constantly adding unnecessary charges to the bill and the directors tire of hearing all the complaints from the ones who are left paying the bills. The social worker searches you out to lure you in. Her first question is “Does your parent have money?” A red flag should have gone up then but we weren’t prepared and did not have other plans in place. Do your research because there are other more afforfable options out there.
This is my first choice, [Removed] was excellent in providing all the information and support in the process. Very good facility.
This was extremely helpful in finding a place for our father. When trying to find the place its a very stressful time. They made it easy and less stressful. Brookdale in High Point is very nice! Very clean, the staff is extremely nice to both our father and us. Its nice to be greeted when they see you. The food is very good. He loves it. He also loves that he can get a piece of fruit during the day. I honestly do not have one bad thing to say. Very nice!
My mother has recently made the move into this community and I have to say there needs to be a few improvements made. When we had first moved in there seemed to be a delay in response time from the staff on how fast they come to my moms room when she pulls her buzzer for help. Another complaints my mom has is the meals. I have eaten a few times there with her and have to agree with her. There is no flavor or variety as well as poor quality in the food they serve. I have had to bring my mom her own meals since she will not eat what they have and that is frustrating. I am hoping some improvements are made soon.
