The leadership team at Blue Bell Place is responsive to family and resident concerns. Issues brought to a leader's attention are resolved in expeditious fashion. Several of the staff that I've met have been there for over 7-10 years. The staff answer calls for assistance in a reasonable time without excessive delays. The meals are at set time windows. The meals are good, but there are less entrée choices than at more expensive, "luxury" Assisted Living facilities. The cost of care is very reasonable and about 30-40% less than many of the other facilities that we considered. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Just what we were looking for

We chose Blue Bell Place for: 1} location, 2} affordability, 3} Friendliness, the size of the room. Our loved one had memory issues and had some difficulty adjusting to living in a community after years of independence, but the staff were patient and supportive.

Lovely place to live

I have live at Blue Bell Place for 5 years. I have enjoyed the trips we’re have taken through the years. My most favorite is the casino. The residents and staff are friendly. I have the security knowing that someone is here to care for me. I’m so glad I chose Blue Bell Place.

Community Tour

I loved Blue Bell Place. They have 24-hour nursing. They have actual menus residents can choose from. And if a resident has a meal in their room, they actually get served their meal on china. During my tour, I met the administrator, Director of Nursing, the chef, and the head of dietary, and everyone was friendly and nice. The facility was also very clean.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour guide was absolutely wonderful but the facility itself was just old, outdated and rundown

Our sense of community comes from knowing our residents, their likes and dislikes and providing a fun-filled lifestyle with lots of events, programs, and choices. Blue Bell Place

It's a good environment and the staff is caring. There's a lot of changes and they are short-staffed sometimes, which causes problems. The quality of the food is problematic, they need a chef. Sometimes the meals, particularly on the weekends, are disappointing. The weekends have been a problem, just generally speaking. They do well with communication. I was surprised that when I wanted to know about putting the monthly payment on a credit card, I was told no. That seemed to be a simple thing to do, at least to me. It'd make things a bit easier by having it as an option in case I want to use a credit card, so it was surprising to hear. I would overall recommended Blue Bell Place to others.

Worst Experience Ever

They did not clean my loved ones room, laundry was just sitting for days, and they did not take the trash out. It was a very terrible experience. I paid a lot of money, and things were not getting done.

Happy with our choice

We chose Blue Bell Place because it was in a good location and also they reached out to me and their representative was very helpful. I intended to get her into assisted living but it was determined that she needed to be in memory care. Their support staff is really good. The med tech was very good with her and they were patient and took time with her as best as they could. She seemed to respond to them well. I would recommend to others looking.

Tour of Blue Bell Place

I toured Blue Bell Place and it was very nice. We chose another community because it's ten minutes from where I live instead of half an hour. I visit my mom everyday, so it's more conveniently located instead of driving thirty minutes across the turnpike.

Very Satisfied

We've been very satisfied with Blue Bell Place. It has been a very positive experience. Our person has had a little bit of a difficult adjustment, but she does have some memory issues. And the staff have been very able to work with her in terms of those issues. We're hoping she can stay in personal care as long as possible without having to be moved to memory care. We really enjoyed working with the administration during the process of getting her moved in. That was a very important part of the process - they made her feel welcomed from the beginning and were very helpful in telling us about the community there. The facility is very clean. Her room is very comfortable, and we love the high ceilings. It makes it feel really open. They come in and clean her room every week and do her laundry, and we're very happy about all those services.

What really stuck out to us about Blue Bell Place was their excellent covid protocols and the locality was convenient to our home. The room sizes are very adequate for the needs. They offer a lot of activities such as amazing music programs, bingo, they did march madness brackets, etc. They are really involved. The call bell protocol is superb. The residents pushes it if they need something and it goes to a caregiver then to a nurse and if it isn't answered by either of them in a timely manner it will then go to the administration which was a big selling point for us. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

My families experience

Our family had a really good experience, our loved one did recently pass away but they were very well cared for at Blue Bell. The director [name removed] was extremely friendly and caring towards our family. The meals and dining service was very good, there were times our loved one needed to eat in her room and they were very accommodating and understanding. We wish we moved our loved one in sooner so she could of experienced more like the activities. Also the value for cost was very reasonable, it did not knock your socks off.

They really do a nice job, could make minor tweaks with the meals

We know this is not an easy job, so we do believe they are doing the best that they can. They do take great care of our loved one, however sometimes the communication is a little off. There are times we have to ask to follow up with things multiple times, but we do think they are still doing an excellent job. Our loved one has said the meals are improving, we do know its hard to incorporate everyone's cultural meal backgrounds and the style of cooking they are used to, so we do wish they would incorporate more Jewish meals, but overall the meals are good.

Our experience

The staff was very nice and friendly and the rooms were nice sized. I like the size of the community due to it being smaller. The community had some covid cases but the communication was not very good. When my loved one passed the communication from the community stopped and I am having trouble getting anyone to call me back. I think they could have been more compassionate than they were.
