We really like how responsive the staff members have been, anytime we reach out by phone or email we usually get an immediate response. The common areas of the community are very clean but the house keeping of our loved ones apartment could be a little better. We do wish they had more of an ambassador's program for the new residents moving in. Our loved one received a lot of good information during the move in process from the staff which was great, but it was very over whelming so our loved one has forgotten some things, so it would be nice if residents could be apart of the program to show the newer residents where things are and how things work.... This was a very nice community. My loved one required more care than they could provide.

I am not happy with the care, that my loved one has been receiving. They are not getting what is required. The food quality is fine. Sometimes, they are not notifying my loved one during meal time. They are short staffed. It's a great community for anyone who requires less care. I am more concerned about the care services, and they have not been following through with assisting my loved one. Overall, It's a nice community, and they are down to earth.

Response from Benchmark Senior Living at Forge Hill
September 8, 2022Thanks for your review, we are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with our community. We take all feedback seriously, and would like to learn more so that we can improve. Can you please reach out to us so that we can address your concerns?
I thought it was very nice. I'm just disappointed that my loved one didn't get to enjoy it longer! During her short stay there, it was a great atmosphere, and the people were very friendly.
Our family had an in person tour and the people were nice but the dining room was very small, not very appealing and almost looked like an office break room. It felt kind of cold, so if you are someone who just wants to be alone this is probably the place. Also the pricing structure was not going to work with our family.
Our family was able to do a virtual tour and they did a good job taking us around the community. We were looking into another community at the time, and the reason we did not choose Benchmark was because they did not really have a backyard outside area where our loved one could walk around freely without having an escort be with her the entire time.
[name removed] the Nurse Practioner is outstanding. The activities director keeps the residents busy and engaged with the different activities. There is trivia, wheelchair zumba, puzzles, more exercise, and more for activities.

Everybody in the community has the best intentions and they have a warm heart. The communications between the staff and our family is good and they keep us well informed. I would recommend this community based on my experience.

My mom is happy here. The communication with the staff has been good, with updates of my loved one. The staff is always willing to take my call. The community is having activities and my mom enjoys them. She is up all day participating in them.
We chose Benchmark Senior Living because of the director and the people at the facility, they all seemed very happy. They also have a great reputation and the facility looks nice. The room sizes are adequate. My mother in law thinks that the food post COVID has been horrendous, prior to COVID, she thought it was just ok. The food isn't really fresh and there is not a lot of variety. My favorite part about this community would be how close it is to us and that she is happy and well cared for. I would recommend to a friend or family member.

The community was always clean. The staff tries to keep the residents engaged and are very friendly. They also have good communication with the families when they need. My family member is a little reluctant to receive help, but the staff is very accommodating and with always be willing to talk with us and address any of our concerns. My family member complains about the food, so we think it could be a little better. They do have activities available for the residents.

I cannot say enough about Forge hill in Franklin and their staff, especially [name removed]. The entire staff has been fantastic! And we've had a few issues that needed doing on our end and forge hill stepped up to help us out on multiple occasions! Extremely helpful and we are so grateful! My mother loves it there! She says it's the best thing that happened to her and we are ridiculously happy for her! Everybody is great and friendly! If you are.not sure where your loved one should go...trust me! They will love it here!

Very nice place but avoid third floor at all cost during heating season. Heat from first two floors rises and they have no control over it. Not unusual for the hallways to be 90 degrees and residents have doors and windows open on warmer winter days.

Overall I have no complaints about this community, the staff have all been wonderful at making sure my loved one is comfortable and feels safe in her new living environment. They also have a wonderful activity program that helps the residents interact with each other and helps them enjoys some company throughout the week. I am very pleased with our choice of this facility and would defiantly recommend it.

The care is going a well as it can for my parents. The staff are nice, helpful, and attentive. My only complaint is the lack in consistency. I have asked to separate my parents clothes, there are labels to see. I put a big note on his walker to be in a specific area to avoid falls. These are not always, consistently done. The meals varies, it is good some days and not good on other days.

This was a good tour. When I walked in they were having a party and it looked like the resident were having fun. I thought this would have been too much for my dad. It is a bigger community with a confusing set up for my dad. This was not going to be a good fit for us. I did not see anything bad on my tour.

I thought this was too big for my cousin. The tour went good but it did not have a cozy feeling. I did see activities here and the staff were nice. After touring I heard some poor things.

It's been okay. They are extremely personable, and they know everyone. I was surprised by how quickly they get to know everyone. They work really hard. I think they do get a bit overwhelmed and there can be some confusion about who is in charge of what. We have a difficult time figuring out who to call about what. There are a lot of activities, and I think the meals are okay. I think given a little time they will go up to a four or five star.

December 17, 2015Thank you for sharing your experiences. Please call us any time at [removed] for any concerns, questions, or clarifications.
All I can say is how great everything has been in the two weeks that I moved my mother in law to Forge Hill. She's been a new person. I haven't seen her this happy in a long time.

I LOVE the Harbor memory care unit at Forge Hill. The single most important reason is the kindness of the front line staff to my elderly mother-in-law. They are always friendly, cheerful, & helpful. At first I thought their good nature was just for show. But they are so consistently that way that this has to be for real. The administrative staff of the Harbor unit and of the larger assisted living unit are also very open, friendly & helpful. They invite our perspective & make efforts to satisfy our concerns. The second reason I love Forge Hill is the decor and the floor plan. When we first walk in, the lobby is bright & airy. My mother-in-law's room is small but lovely. The Harbor unit itself is bright with many windows, cheerful and very lovely to look at. There are multiple open spaces off a common hallway for different functions for the residents. The common hallway and relatively small size of the unit (about 22 residents?) make it easier for those with memory problems to learn their way around. At the end of the common hallway is an enclosed patio where the residents can safely enjoy being outside in the good weather. The activities director is also a sweetheart. She's friendly, with boundless energy. She provides meaningful activities for the residents morning & afternoon, including occasional trips into the community. It is a small community, and all the staff know everybody. It's very personable. I looked at a number of other places, & this is by far the best. Do I sound too enthusiastic? No - no one is paying me for this recommendation. It's all very sincere. I can't wait until I can move into the assisted living side!
