About the community

At Barnes Place, our senior living community, residents are at the center of our small, homelike community. We develop individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident, and a full-time registered nurse is available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care. Our community welcomes pets and offers activities to help residents thrive in mind and body, such as exercise, church communion, spa days, movies, Steeler parties, karaoke, happy hour, and ice cream socials. We also enjoy invigorating trips to see a ballgame, for shopping and dining, and scenic country drives. Schedule a visit to our Latrobe senior living community today.

Do not put loved one at Barnes Place

I do not recommend Barnes. In the beginning the aides were very helpful and did good with my grandmother (2018) The care has gone drastically down. Staff has changed so many times in two years. The nurse in charge is very uncaring. My grandmother who presently can’t stand up or reposition her self in a chair was found naked in bed by her hospice nurse. The aides at Barnes have no idea how that happened. “She must have done it herself” . My grandmother had a respiratory cold where she was prescribed antibiotics. Her lips swelled very large and she was having a hard time swallowing. “It looks like she got Botox” I was told. I’m guessing she had an allergic reaction. She had thrush and couldn’t eat. I pulled her out the next day and In the last few days at new facility she is sooo much better. Medicated thrush and is eating and looks great. I absolutely believe she would have died if I wouldn’t have taken her out

A good visit

This was a nice looking community when we visited. The person that took us on tour was nice. This community seems to offer a lot of activities and some nice amenities. My loved one just did not think this was the right place for them.

They are 5 stars.

My husband was at this community a short time and he did love the food while he was there. The community is gorgeous. They kept his room and the community clean. They did his laundry. This is a private community that does not accept medicaid. The community is square with a courtyard in the middle. The caregivers went above and beyond when my husband needed extra help and they worked well with hospice.
