
We saw some other places before picking Azura and I thought that they had the best for what there is to offer in Monroe. I honestly don't know where they get the young people that work there who care so much, that's not typical of young people today. They care and it's not just put on. They love her to death and she loves them; she'll put her arms around them and she hugs them. She is nonverbal so she can't verbally express how much she likes them, but she certainly shows that she does likes them. I think they're the greatest. In regards to management, there's one girl that was there and I think she's not there anymore. I don't connect with management very often. When I first came, and it didn't go very good. I gave her a check for 2 months when I first arrived. She must have lost the check because I remember giving it to her, and I have a checkbook that creates copies in it. About 3 to 4 weeks later, the head office called to tell me that I haven't paid. I told them that I did and in fact, I paid for 2 months. I questioned that if I owed more money already, then something was wrong. The girl at the office in Monroe said I didn't give her the check, when I told her I did and reminded her, she then remembered. Two weeks later I got a letter from Azura headquarters saying my wife would have to leave for non-payment and that bothered me because I knew I paid them. But I looked at the check information and it hadn't been cashed, so she likely did lose it and then told headquarters that I didn't pay. It was kind of like she was throwing me under the bus and I will never forget that. For me to not a pay a bill is extremely unusual and unlikely. If it wouldn't have been for the care itself, we would have automatically left and if I had to rate the management I would give them a 0 out of 5, not even a 1. Very pleased with the care my mom receives. They are understanding and try to engage mom. Mom loves to "help out" and she gets to assist with helping in the kitchen. She was a teacher and a seamstress, and they have engaged her in ways that make the "teacher" feel needed.

Currently, I am very pleased with the care given to my wife. Azura is clean, maintained and well supervised. It always boils down to staff and right now they are super. I have viewed many memory care facilities and Azura Monroe is top notch.

My dad was in a facility before coming to Azura. We noticed that he did not have the drive to do anything anymore which was extremely concerning to us. We ultimately decided to move him to a different home, and felt like Azura checked all of the boxes. The director made our move in process flawless, and for the last 9 months dad has been at Azura, he has done a 360 in his willingness to participate and finally has some life back in him. Azura was the best possible miracle that could happen to me and mu husband as I struggled to find the right place to care for him when I no longer could. Parkinson patents are extremely challenging and with symptoms that can change from day to day. The staff at Azura in Monroe were amazing, caring and attentive. They listened, they were flexible. They carried through and treated us like family. I highly recommend Azura. If every location is like Monroe's Team, Azura is headed for greatness and success.

Staff are caring and very responsive to the residents individual needs. They know details of the residents life and can re-orient the residents with ease. Poor exchange of communications at first. Better as we went along. We were in a situation where we had to make a decision quickly. Either things were not explained clearly to me, or I misunderstood. But I believe misinformation came from the sales presentation. But I think everything improved as time went on. One particular person from the administrative staff has been available and able to make things happen for me, which I greatly appreciate. The direct service staff, the people who actually care for my loved one hands-on, have been on the phone continuously with me. I like the fact that it's a small ratio of staff to residents. I also like that the administration has allowed it to be a family environment. For example, one of the caregivers was allowed to bring her dog when she came to work. And that dog was fantastic with all the residents - well-behaved, well-trained. You didn't have to worry about that dog. But for those residents at that age, trapped in the building due to Covid, that dog was a welcome addition. The staff there was very personable. They made sure that every member was accommodated. If their favorite was root beer, they always made sure root beer was there. Just those little things that went above and beyond what you usually see at an assisted living.

My brother was a difficult admission but Azura never gave up. The amazing work and when he risked being moved, Azura fought to keep him where he fell at home. He now has special bond with some of the staff and looks happy when I see him.

I visited my dad through a window the last weeks of his life. I was able to be by his deathbed. I am glad mom was able to acclimate to Azura before the virus. I would like to get tested, be quarantined till the results are available and go directly to spend the whole day with mom... Even drive with her on country roads... no other people involved.

The facility is great. The pharmacy that is supposed to work with Azura is horrible. When they make errors and mistakes on medication, Omnicare will not correct the error! They overcharge the seniors, don't correct the mistakes. Omnicare says they will make the corrections on the medications then don't and go through and correct the errors.

My sister [name removed] has been at Monroe for over a year. Staff have been great with her. She is in hospice now. Has been a hard time for family due to the virus and not being able to visit. We understand completely the situation. Now in hospice have visited her a few times.

I love this place. My husband is a resident and he couldn't be in a better care anywhere. He is safe and considers Azura to be his "home." I feel my mother has great care at Azura. They have Doctors taking care of their feet and checking on them every month. There are many activities for them to participate in. And the caregivers do a fantastic job taking care of the residents., They must have patience of a saint.
