About the facility Angel's Lighthouse AFH
We believe that every day is a new day with new possibilities. At Angels' Lighthouse AFH, We provide professional and compassionate 24-hour in-home care for senior citizens, located in Oakbrook at Lakewood, Washington- close to Steilacoom, Tacoma, and many other parts of Pierce County. We are also just five minutes from St. Clare Hospital. An Adult Family Home care is an excellent alternative for long term care. A home setting is quiet and serene, and the resident to caregiver ratio is low. The provider and caregiver has over thirteen years experience serving the elderly in all levels of care. Our house provides services for hospice, respite, and long-term care, specializing in dementia and mental health.

Careless, neglegent and cruel
These people are the epitemy of profiteering, unwilling to spend anything to make residents healthy, happy or comfortable. I owned a residential program for [time frame removed], recieving less than half the per-person income of Angel Lighthouse, and with that fedd very well, took my residents on monthly outward bound trips; to Parks and movies, from Mt. Raineer to the Ocean and shopping as needed. My sister remains so frightened to ask for anything that she remains both hungry and uncomfortable most of the time, resigned to a dark, dingy and unclean bedroom, her body waisting away, her mind troubled with nobody willing to help her in anyway. I would be happy to change this abject-review with the slightest descernable consideration of my sisters needs. DSHS Case Management doesn't call me back, and social services oversight seems unavailable, no-excuse! This less than negative, minus-star review is the best I can do----My heart hurts!

Horrendous care, do not send loved ones here
To quote my friends aunt "Web site says "daily activities" yet all of the residents are kept in their rooms/bed including during meals. They would not follow my nephew's diet even though they knew before hand that he needed that sort of diet. Meals were unhealthy such as one slice of pizza and a jello for dinner. They advertised that they were "diabetic friendly" but they refused to keep track of the carbs in his food. They refused to accept prepared meals from his mother because she was worried about what they were feeding him. They said that counting carbs was too difficult for them. They even borrowed his glucose test kit to use on another resident. The test kit punctures ones skin with a needle. This is horrendously unsafe."
Do not send your loved ones here! This place needs shut down!
