Affordable Home Care Was Invaluable!
My mother was under the care of hospice during the 2020 pandemic. This situation prevented them from seeing my mom more than once a week. That was certainly not the case with Affordable Home Care. Their caregivers were invaluable during this difficult time.

I didn't think they could help but they excelled
I am so happy to know you have an Angel of the Month recognition program. Our Caregiver has been with us since April. Initially when I met with you I probably mentioned whom ever you sent would have very big shoes to fill since the previous caregiver we had was really an angel. I am happy to say the Caregiver you selected has shown that she wears the same size shoes. She quickly proved to be trustworthy and almost immediately become one of the family and is loved by us all. She is punctual, fulfills all her duties with a smile, bringing happiness into our house every day. I should mention she comes every day of the week! She often does things unasked and unknown until I discover some little thing I knew nothing about.
In addition to caring for my wife, who has Huntington’s disease and dementia, she goes beyond my expectations in so many ways. I have been caring for my wife, for 30 years, before she was diagnosed. It was hard for me to let go of doing everything and accepting help from a stranger. Our Caregiver has gradually taught me to let go of most of the things that have taken their toll. She has become someone I can rely on and offers help in unexpected ways. She has almost become a replacement for a secretary, often reminding me of things to be done, etc. She offers me companionship, advice and guidance as she realizes, at 84 I’m not as sharp as I used to be.

Friendly Service and Keeps My Mom Independent
This is a great service that allows my mom to stay out of a facility. Most of the aides are very friendly and do a great job with my mom and help keep the apartment clean, too! I'd definitely recommend them for those looking for a solution for a loved one that lets them stay in their home as long as they are able to.

We have been using Affordable Home Care for my mom for the last 2 years and they have been great! They do for her the things she has trouble doing for herself: meal prep, laundry, cleaning, and their service has allowed my mom to stay in her home instead of going to a retirement community. They are professional and take the utmost care with your loved one.

Highly Recommend Affordable HomeCare
Our caregiver, [name removed], was incredible. She came out at short notice and took care of my mother who has ALS when we had a last minute emergency. [Name removed] anticipated all of her needs and treated her with kindness, and, more importantly, with respect. Sometimes our elders aren't afforded the respect they are due, especially when they can no longer do the easiest things. [Name removed] is the model of what a caregiver should be!

Avoid this company
Out of the approximately nine care workers sent over by this company only one was competent. I have worked in the medical field for over 25 years and I don't believe the folks they sent into our home were vetted. The "caretakers" didn't understand proper support and lifting technique, which is incredibly important to avoid falls. Two of the caretakers who came into the home had the audacity to tell the patient what they would and would not do. Most caretakers didn't want to work. When I requested help for my family member from one aide, I was told to leave her alone and do it by myself. At another time I found an aide in the basement, sitting in my Lazy-boy, drinking a beer taken from our refrigerator downstairs, and talking on her cell phone. Don't use this company. I wasn't able to leave my loved one in their care because I couldn't trust any of them. The company's response to my complaints was simply to send over another incompetent worker. Avoid using this company. They make a lot of promises they can't keep.

Heaven Sent
Although I haven't had any contact with the actual care giver that takes care of my friend the agency has been great! She can't stop raving about how she feels like she's in heaven since her caregivers arrival. I would highly recommend Affordable Home Care to a friend.
