I was impressed with Addington Place of Shoal Creek. The reason we did not move my mother here is because they have piece by piece pricing. So every time a worker does anything with a resident, it is an extra charge. Since that is how it is set up we would not know what we would be paying each month and we wouldn't be able to budget for it.
Our tour at Addington Place was mediocre. While the woman who gave the tour was very nice and pleasant, she was not the person who would normally give tours. The one thing that turned us away the most was the dirty carpets in the entryway. We would have considered them at first, but we continued to tour other places, and the place we ended up choosing just blew us away.

We were not impressed with this community and it was not what we were looking for for our loved one. It just did not give off the right feeling.
Our family had an in person tour and Addington Place was very inviting, the lady we met with made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The director of nursing was actually off that day, but she decided to come in so we could sit down and talk with her a little bit. Both our loved ones needed different levels of care which is why we didn't choose Addington Place, but if we were just looking to place our mom somewhere it would be here. We would recommend this community to others.
Toured Memory Care...the facility had a beautiful, secure outdoor area for residents. Unit was very clean and rooms overly spacious.
My rating is based on the time during the pandemic. I would recommend the community. The staff is wonderful.
I recommend living here. I love my apartment space. The activities are fun and food is great!
Very, very bad overall. I cannot and would not suggest this facility to anyone looking. If you have to drive an hour away to keep your love ones in an assisted facility, do it. It starts with the people at the top and between the overall complacency and lack of accountability for all who are in charge at this location, I am baffled how they got to where they are. Not only should [names removed] not be in charge of running the day to day operations of this establishment, they shouldn't have the ability to be door greeters at the Walmart. They hired a career criminal to work here, they provided that employee keys to the facility and failed to get them back prior to firing him. This led to that employee letting himself in one night after the kitchen had closed and he helped himself to a week full of groceries. What else could that employee have done? Is this the first time this has happened? Could he have accessed the rooms? How much harm could this disgruntled employee have done given the ability he had to access the facility at his leisure. Furthermore, they hang their employees out to dry when faced with the consequences of their actions, specifically a 17 year old who secured this as his first job. Terrible to think that grown men shy away from a teaching moment and instead, through their own lack of action and inability to be accountable, throw a young man under the bus to save face. I hope that you will consider other options, this place is NOT worth what you are paying for. Absolutely Terrible.
My mom has been at Addington Place since January of 2018. Her transition went really smoothly. She seems to love it there. All the staff is very friendly. I know that the care for my mom and some even love her! A few have told me that she is their favorite! I know she is safe and well-cared for when I'm not there visiting. They call if there is a problem or text me. I'm so thankful that she is there and happy!

While looking for a place for my love one I thought that this place is great. The staff members are really nice. It was really difficult to decide where my love one should be and be comfortable. But this facility along with the others that I have seen was really nice.
I toured this facility when trying to find a place for my parents. It went well and there wasn’t anything wrong with it. The thing that my parents wanted the most was to be able to move into a brand new community and not feel like the “new kids”. But here, there were a few times that the residents mentioned to us that they had their own places to sit and that it takes a while to get used to everyone. The carpet looked a little outdated and I think overall the building itself could use some updating. But other than that, there wasn’t anything I saw that truly put me off. Ultimately, we went with a different community but this was our second choice.
I toured this very nice facility when I was first looking for a place for my sister. At the time, they didn’t have that many rooms available but the facility itself is pretty new. The lady there that I talked to, [Removed], was wonderful and extremely helpful. She was really helpful even when she knew that we were going to choose somewhere else. She even called us to make sure things were going smoothly and gave us suggestions about how to help my sister be comfortable with moving, even though she knew we weren’t going to be using that specific facility. I believe there are people here that really care about the people that reside here. The only reason we didn’t choose this place was because of the lack of rooms.
This is a nice community for good care. We like knowing that the community. The menu of the meals are appealing and she is pleased with the nice variety. The activities are available to the residents who want to participate and we hope in time she will be more active. We would recommend this community for the good value and care of a loved one.
The staff are helpful and friendly. They have a lot of daily activities. The food is good and they offer a variety of choices. The community is clean and well taken care of. I would recommend this community.
The Benton House was very nice. If they would have had a 2 bedroom apartment available, we would have moved my parents there. The place had a positive atmosphere and was very clean. Also it was all on one floor which we really liked.
This is a clean community and the people I met during my tour were nice. The grounds are nice and they have a media center.
The experience for my sister has worked out well. She is currently on a 60 day step-down programs that allows her to stay at a lower rate for the 60 days until she finds a new home. That program has been helpful. The facility is a fine and nice one, the staff are helpful and problem-free. My sister likes it there.
The staff have been very nice with my loved one. The communication has been wonderful on their behalf. I would recommend a tour of this community the staff are very attentive and help with keeping my loved one safe at all times. All of the atmosphere is positive the bedrooms and the activity centers are all well up-kept.
