Assisted living communities offer residential communities and health care to seniors who may need support with everyday activities such as showering or cooking food. Assisted living communities often offer chances for organized activity, help with daily activities, and care supervision. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as reassessments must be conducted at least annually, and when residents have a change in needs, abilities, or condition, community must develop a temporary service plan to meet immediate needs, the plan must specify which program services will be provided to meet the resident’s needs as identified by the assessment and the frequency with which each service will be provided, and initial comprehensive mental and physical assessment. Public assistance is available through The Elderly and Physically Disabled 1915(c) Waiver program, the Community Options 1915(c) Waiver program, and the Medicaid managed care 1915(b)(c) Family Care Waiver program for the aged and physically disabled. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include Residents may self-administer medications if they are capable, If the medication administration is supervised by a licensed healthcare professionall, the community must ensure that these individuals coordinate the medication administration process and system, and when medication administration is not supervised by an RN, practitioner, or pharmacist, the CBRF must arrange for a pharmacist to package and label a resident’s prescription medications in unit dose. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include activity programming for persons with dementia, leisure time activities, supervision, and independent living skills. Staff members obtain education in a variety of areas. These areas include standard precautions, job responsibilities, resident rights, and needs assessment of prospective residents.
