Staff members receive education in a variety of subjects. These areas include infection control, complaint procedures, the ombudsmen s role, and abuse prevention and reporting. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include help in following planned diets, or use of equipment, personal assistance, and help with self administration of medications and medication administration. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reminding residents to take medication, checking the self-administered dose against the label on the container, and opening medication containers for residents. The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents.
