Assisted living communities offer coordinated social interaction and apartment style housing as well as personalized support. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. Public assistance is available through state Assistance programs for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as assessment must be updated to meet the ongoing needs of the resident and functional needs assessment. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include no provisions identified. Staff members receive training in a variety of fields. These areas include Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, adult abuse and neglect , community policies, and the aging process.
