Staff must obtain training in a number of fields. These areas include 24 hours of continuing education during the first year and 16 hours annually thereafter, Residents’ rights, reporting requirements, and provision of resident care that is individualized and helpful. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 25. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include administration of medications by a certified medication aide, described as personal services, assisted living care, and the provision of assisted self-preservation. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as A written care plan must document the assessment findings, assessment to determine the resident’s physical care needs, assessment to determine the residents cognitive and behavioral impairments, and whether family supports are available. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include at least three meals, one nutritious snack, and any therapeutic diets ordered by a resident’s health care provider must be provided each day. Public assistance is available through 1915(c) Medicaid Waiver programs- ) the Community Care Services Program is managed by the Department of Community Health’s Division of Medical Assistance Plans and partners with the Division of Aging Services and the Service Options Using Resources in a Community Environment (SOURCE) program.
