These areas include medication policies and procedures, need for professionall help, 10 hours of initial training within the first 4 weeks of employment and 4 additional hours annually, and how to recognize early signs of illness. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include the total daily diet must meet the recommended dietary allowances of the National Academy of Sciences Food and Nutrition Board, communities must provide at least three meals per day and snacks, meals must include an appropriate variety of foods, planned in consideration of cultural and religious backgrounds , and meals must comply with diet prescribed by physicians. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include medication administration and assistance with self-administration of medications.
