Indiana is a charming, Midwestern state located off the southern tip of Lake Michigan. Its nickname of “The Hoosier State” is one of the country’s oldest state nicknames, and although there are many theories as to where it came from, there is no definitive answer. What is known is that residents of the state embrace the “Hoosier” title with a strong sense of local pride. Indiana’s central location – just a short distance from Chicago and many other major cities of the Midwest – combined with the all-American appeal of its own cities like Indianapolis and Bloomington and its vast expanses of rural farmland, make Indiana a convenient place to live and a beautiful state to retire in.
The median monthly cost of a senior apartment in Indiana is about $630. A Place for Mom’s Senior Living Advisors can provide you with a list of 55+ communities in Indiana to help you find one that fits your needs and budget.

The food is very good, and what we really enjoyed about the staff was how accommodating they were. They were just very nice people to deal with and we would recommend the Brookdale Stonestreet to others.
Read moreMy Mother and I got a really good vibe from this facility. She really loved it here and we know we made the right decision. This is a cat-friendly place and all of the residents are fairly nice. For activities, they have things like exercise classes, once a week they have a pool trip, and they are very involved with artsy things. My mom is on the 10th floor and she has a beautiful view of the cityscape. Unfortunately, she had a stroke recently but the staff members were very quick in getting her to the hospital and more than likely saved her life. I would definitely recommend this facility to other families.

She has had no complaints about the meals and loves participating in the activities they have available throughout the day. I am most impressed that they have a brunch available for all of the family members to come too once a month. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
