Agape Home for the Elderly

My first experience with Agape was the period between 2018 and 2020 when my mom was a client there. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and the effort that was put into providing healthy and nutritious meals. My mom's bedding and clothing was always freshly laundered. As you can see by the dates above she was there during the early days of the Covid crisis. No one at the facility ever contracted the virus. The lady that runs the house could see that mom was becoming depressed because of the lack of family visitation, so she arranged for us to visit on the patio (without contact) for the last few months of mom's life of 102 years. That brings me to the present in dealing with my wife of 56 years who became too ill for me to care for at home. The first place I contacted was Agape and I was very relieved to find out that they had an opening. She has been there for a year now and I am just as pleased now as when my mom was there. Needless to say I am a big proponent.

A caring place for loved ones

My amazing grandma was fiercely independent and a sassy old lady in the best possible way. So she was 100% against losing the independence of living in her own home. But she came around to the idea of accepting help as her health declined, and she quickly grew to love the people and the care she received at Aragon Manor. We knew she deserved a loving and comfortable place to spend her final days, and I'm so happy to say that is exactly what she got there. The care she received was so personalized and kind. My family was kept informed about any important updates, and we could call with questions any time. The owner is such a sweet person who took the time to explain things, and even helped Grandma make phone calls to us as she started to struggle with those sorts of things. We also received video messages to say hello and show her progress after a hospital stay. Based on our experience, we would certainly recommend Aragon Manor as a safe and loving place for your family member.

My husband lived here for 4 years. It is a very clean, loving home. He was given excellent care and enjoyed the good food. I, his wife, was always welcome to visit and have Holiday dinners. I recommend Agape Home highly.

God bless Agape Home for the Elderly. My Dad was at home, he was part of a family, we had great times, the food was great and we celebrated Dad's 89 birthday in a big way. We were blessed to have been cared by them.

Review of Agape Home

Our mother resided at the Agape Home for the Elderly for over five years. During this time, my wife and I visited on a weekly basis. In addition to observing the continuous care attention paid to our mother, we also came to know the [name removed] family quite well. They are wonderfully compassionate and competent family who always put their patients first. We feel blessed to have found such a safe, nurturing and family based environment who delt with our mother's many issues professionally and most importantly with a smile.

I feel so lucky to have found Agape Home

My dad was with [name removed] in Agape Home for a year and a half, after he needed more help than assisted living was able to provide, and until he passed. [Name removed] was wonderful from Day 1. I was really nervous about everything but she coordinated with hospice, the assisted living facility, the medical equipment company, the transportation company, everything. She told me "Don't worry", and she took care of all of it. From that time forward, she was warm and caring, always there for my dad. For [name removed], my dad's health and happiness were as personal to her as they were to me. He was bed-bound and [names removed] and her helpers kept him clean, comfortable and happy. And [name removed] was in constant communication with me about his welfare and any needs. She looked after the little things, too. He was in a comfortable chair in the living room much of the time so he could socialize with everyone. And she knew what he liked to watch on TV, what he liked to eat, etc. She always makes healthy, home-cooked meals and there are always snacks and treats. There were get-togethers at holiday times and someone was always visiting. This is a warm, friendly and caring place. I was there all the time too, and I always felt welcome. I can't even express the peace of mind it gave me, knowing my dad was with someone who cared so much about him and had the ability to take such good care of him.

Had to move my loved one out after a week

My loved one was only able to stay here for a week. It was under my assumption that this facility was assisted living even up to the time we signed the papers. All the meals are included, they have 24-hour snacks, and once a week room cleaning. After I signed I was told that I have to go through a 3rd party nursing care. After only a week my loved one needed more care than they could provide without spending a bunch of money. After the week I was told by the 3rd party nursing care that the facility told them they had to be with her 27/7. I was not happy they didn’t tell me personally. Everyone here seemed nice and the staff really cared about the residents. The building itself is so large that I would get lost. Also, the facility isn’t in the best area and you can tell there are shady things going on. I would recommend this facility to people who don’t have dementia or Alzheimer’s

Didn't sound like a great place to me.

When we were in the hospital with our loved one, we were right next to someone who had been here for less than 24 hours when their loved one fell, and got a brain bleed. Mary Ella took the resident to the doctor herself, and didn't call the daughter for four hours. The home had been referred to me, and a few days later they called to tell us they had an opening. I don't think so.
