We chose Encore at North branch because the staff that we talked with were wonderful and helpful. We liked that the facility was not too big, some places we looked at were just way too big. And also the location was great for our family. I think they do a fantastic job of offering activities and building community among the residents. Overall it has been a good transition and I would recommend them.

... Read moreNursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is an establishment that provides residence to two or more individuals who have no familial relation to the administrator. This type of establishment provides its occupants with care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers provide care for seniors who are unable to care for themselves.
Nursing homes are a convenient and easy care alternative for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will routinely allow access to individuals 55 and older infrequentlyheard of in senior care regarding care types.Nursing homes are required to provide room and bed maintenance services, medically-related social services, pharmaceutical services, and nursing and related services to residents. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment, specially prepared food, and personal reading materials. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be treated with respect, have your representative notified about your care, be free from discrimination, and spend time with visitors. A significant amount of residents are bachelors or widows with smaller social support groups, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. Often times seniors may choose to live in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a physical or mental impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their lifestyle goals.
