The atmosphere is very pleasant and cheerful. Many other places are depressing and The Villages at Seven Oaks is cheery and clean and smells good. It is a good value for the money. We have peace of mind that he is getting good care. We are bringing in hospice to give a little extra help. We are very comfortable with them. There have been a few times where they have not been as timely with returning phone calls and there have been a few frustrations but overall we are happy. I like that the memory care has it's own side. It is very easy to visit.
The staff at Golden Living Center was pretty responsive to the family's needs. We had family meetings about discharge planning. I did think the social service director was responsive to me personally. So many emails and phone calls to stay in contact. Their executive director and my mom had a personality conflict. It got to the point that my mom was calling her names.
My mother went in for skilled nursing care. They were the most expensive and had the most extensive care going on. I went in there a couple times and it looked okay but while my mother was there she got an infections. They suspect it might have been the food but they weren't sure. So she had to stay for and extra 4 weeks before we could transfer her to another, less expensive, community. The cost was definitely a reason to move her and also I don't think Rosewood had any one bedrooms available when we were looking.
