My biggest concern is trying to get a schedule and routine together for mom. Now that mom is there, I have to find things out when I am up there visiting or when I call. They do not proactively call me to give me progress reports, and I wish they would. That is my biggest concern. That said, they work extremely well with the residents, keep them well cared for and busy. The staff is very friendly and polite. I really think they are a top notch place.

When we toured the place it was lovely, the staff members were very caring, and the finances worked out. He wanted a ground floor apartment and they had one available so everything worked out perfectly. He loves the meals, he gets to choose off of a menu what he wants for dinner. I really like that they have a chapel on site. I have not been in the facility since he moved in, but I plan to go visit soon. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

Complete guide to independent living

Enderlin, North Dakota

Independent Living

For those who would prefer to live primarily without assistance but would like the assistance of having their household chores maintained by professionalls, an Independent Living Community could be the perfect option. Residents may continue to use their free time as they see fit while their meals are prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are an assortment of costs and advantages to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in the care plan: internet access, housekeeping, field trips, laundry, utilities, parking, cable TV, and Waiting list deposit. The benefits associated with independent living include golf course, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, game/TV room, concierge services, laundry service, and security guards.
