Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the opportunity to live an active life while making sure their basic needs have been met. Seniors can continue to live their lives as they see fit while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and recreational activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies differ between locations, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private caregivers. There are a number of expenses and advantages to balance when selecting an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in the care plan: move-in fee, transportation, Waiting list deposit, field trips, meals, internet access, laundry, and utilities. The benefits associated with independent living include golf course, laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, private rental hall, security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, game/TV room, and healthcare center.
