The stay at Wichita Center for Rehabilitation has been fine. They have all been really friendly. I would recommend the facility to a friend. Good place to off-load your responsibilities.
I have been incarcerated here for a year with 24 hours 'care'. I hurt, every muscle in my body is under tension causing a build up of lactic acid. Essentially my blood feels like battery acid that's trying to burn it's way out. I can't walk, I barely sleep. One of the people that I met here recently broke his hip. This happened due to demineralization (IE not enough magnesium [bones are made with calcium and magnesium]). The medical staff (as useless as they are) hide behind faulty test results claiming that it in the name of safety. This is what the National Institute is Health has to say about these tests: [removed]
This building suffers from 'sick building syndrome'. There is mold everywhere. State of Kansas won't do anything (I've tried).
I am a veteran that was poisoned in 1993 by the U.S. ARMY. I am tired and in pain.

They were friendly enough when I went up there to talk to them. When I went in, my loved one didn't have any water. They don't provide a pitcher for water. They will give you a cup for water, but no pitcher. The communication between them, his daughter in Illinois, and their doctor seem to be lacking.

There are too many patients and not enough staff. The medications do not come on time, or they are not even there. One of my mother's medications is still missing. It's not very well managed at all.

Not recomended for quality care.
I would not recommend this facility. they are rough, impatient and disrespectful of people. I made numerous complaints about issues. On one occasion I observed my mother being on a bedpan for over 15 mins. She would have been on it long if I hadn't be there to get her help. She stated that she was previously on one for over 30 mins. They are not reassuring her and compassionate. On one of my visits I noticed that the room was cold. I check the heating unit and discovered that the furnace was inoperative. It took me having to talk to someone to get something done. The food is inedible, and the place reeks with the smell of urine. Because the floor consistently has urine spots every time I go in, my shoes smell like the facility. On my first visit, my mother wanted a bedpan. The aid told my mother to go ahead and go and she would just clean her up...unacceptable! My mother was making a complaint to a person "in-charge". The person that was being discussed was allowed to be in the room, which intimidated my mother. On another occasion an employee told my mother that she was tired of coming in so often, and was not going to come in ay more. My mother was told she could have snacks when she wanted. An employee told her that she would eat when everyone else ate. They are breaking HIPAA laws by having a patient's medication information in full view on a computer screen on an unattended med-cart. This isn't even a complete list of issues, but I think that this will give everyone an idea of the kind of "care" they can expect form this facility.

I think she is doing well up there! Every time I've been up there, it's been nice and everybody is kind. She is there getting all the therapy, but she doesn't like food! Every time I go up to visit they are super friendly and know who I am going to visit. I have seen some of the dinners and it looks good to me. It's basically the rehabilitation people I've been talking to. Both physical therapy and occupational therapy people. They communicate well with me.

The overall experience has not been good. There have multiple things that I've experienced since she's been there for about three weeks already and I've had to get them addressed. Mostly to do with the quality of care that my aunt is receiving. They seem unorganized. I don't see how the staff are not observant of the residents general and medical condition. She is sitting up on her own now and moving faster. One of the supervising nurses was not helpful. The dining room seems to be clean. The staff have told me that the food there isn't good. In the beginning they weren't calling me. I finally spoke to some of the social workers they have now started calling me with updates.

My Mother died in this Renamed facility three years ago. She wasn’t allowed to leave to come home. My Google Reviews closed the Previous named Facility-Manor Care. This is unbelievable. My Google Review brought attention to the Horrific care under Administrator [name removed]. Same administrator just Renamed! Nurses overworked and Do not trust these people!. I have all pictures of my 85 year old mother Who never in her life had Pneumonia until our family saw her Chest bare and air conditioning on freezing and freezing outside! She died of Pneumonia! Her care! The funeral director said it took a half hour to wash my mothers hair when she died. How Shady to just rename facility. Yet same administrator who doesn’t care!! [name removed]. I have all pictures!!

Wichita Center has been great! My loved one is happy with the nursing he receives. They take good care of him. The only thing is that sometimes he asks us to bring him food because he does not enjoy what they are serving. Other than that it has been fine.

They're doing well and I don't have any major concerns with anything so far. The admissions staff were all very helpful, especially with the transition from the hospital. They were able to move through the process quickly. There was a minor issue with some of the aides, but after talking to them it's been good. My aunt was there before and that's why I brought my parents here. The staff remembered my aunt and were all excited to be able to care for my parents now too.
