The staff is friendly and responsive. The facility is clean and is kept very neat. My Mom says the food is good in general but has had a few meals that were not to her liking. I feel comfortable with her living there. The staff frequently checks on her to make sure that she's safe. The facility was recently sold, which we were not told about when she moved in last December but things seem to be unchanged so far. I am very satisfied.
We love Whittier Place. I can't say enough good things about the community. What really sold us was that every member of the team at the community was so friendly. Even the residents are warm and welcoming. It is a clean and beautiful facility. Outdoors is well-maintained with wonderfully landscaped grounds to enjoy the outside activities. We haven't eaten there yet, but next week our whole family is going to dine with mom and then we will find out if it is as good as she says it is. They offer various activities that she enjoys. She hasn't tried all of them out yet as she is still getting acclimated to her surroundings. They offer shopping and other excursions on Tues. and Weds. We couldn't be happier with the care they are providing for her, and it's close to our family so that we get to visit her often. I would highly recommend this community to others.
We toured the Whittier Place. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The atmosphere was not as bright and cheery as what we were looking for. It did not seem as clean as some of the other places we had looked at. My mom did not want to live there.
They were good when we had a tour with with community. I thought they were friendly and professional. I saw they had some activities going on while walking through the community. Nothing was wrong here except having smaller rooms and they reason why we did not choose them.
This is a smaller community. The people I met were nice and the community seemed clean. They offer transportation and daily activities. This community did not seem like a good fit for us.
I have to say that I'm impressed with the caring staff at this facility. My mom who has dementia who was living at home alone and was noticeably declining by the day. I am amazed that in the short time since we placed her at Whittier Place, she is now living and not just existing. Her dementia is still present but we can see the happiness in her eyes and the caregivers are wonderful. Whittier Place is top notch and I would highly recommend anyone looking to place their love one there to not hesitate. The pricing is reasonable, clean, wonderful meals and has that family like atmosphere that we all look for.
My loved one feels good at Whittier Place. Especially since she had to move in so quickly. My loved one is adjusting well to the new environment. The community as far as I can see does not offer very many activities for my loved one to participate in.
My experience so far has been very great and my mom seems to be content and happy now. Mom is getting one on one interaction with staff and they insure her safety within the memory ward. I never feel rushed when I call and check on my mom, Vicki is always honest and understanding. The food is good, the community is always clean, and the staff clean Mom's room weekly. I thanks Michelle from A Place For Mom for all the good information and referrals. I would recommend this community because it is a great place!
This community is so very clean and always! The staff are so amazing, attentive, sensitive, and caring til the end! The director is an excellent, wonderful human being too. My mom joined in lots of activities like bingo, puzzles, and violin guests and Mom said" I'm tired from all the fun" I would highly recommend this community for its high quality and the peace of mind knowing that all is in great care. This community is beautiful and worth the value.
My Mom has lived here for 2 months and she is happy. I on the other hand have had some issues. I live over 300 miles away and cannot just drop by to help if they drop the ball on something. She had a doctors appointment that I confirmed in person on two different dates. When the date came up they told my Mom she wasn't on the schedule. She also needs prescription painkillers and in two weeks I had 5 different people from the facility call me and tell me she was running out. I let them know I would email her doctor to get a prescription. Each person assured me they would take care of it. Obviously they didn't and it came down to her last pill and me having to email their executive director. He made things happen and I have his assurance that in the future it will be handled. My Mom loves the staff there and she has friends there so I am hoping all of these issues get worked out and we can both be happy.
i think that they could watch the residents a little more closely, but I am not sure if A home like Whittier Place does that. For instance my loved one had someone else's clothes on when I visited once. They are really great though, and they seem like they are concerned with the care they give.
We do not have any complaints. Things are going very well. The staff is caring and professional. The facility is clean and well organized and maintained. The level of care here is excellent and everyone feels like family.
Whittier Place gets five stars all around. I can't think of anything at this time for them to improve on. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly. So far so good at this facility.
They really welcomed my mother in there and made her feel at home. They have made it very comfortable for her and really helped accommodate to make it a very smooth transition. It has been very good and we are very satisfied with Whittier Place.
No units available at this time. Would need to deposit $500 to be put on a waiting list. Nice facility-well kept with beautiful courtyard. Good mix of activities. Not corporate owned. Fairly priced on rents with a la carte care level items @ $12 per point. Detailed care items available.
It came down to the wire with my mom when she was in a skilled nursing place. The difference with Whittier Place is astounding! The nursing facility was kind of a frightening place. By contrast, Whittier Place (which we chose among many different places we checked out) is a very pleasant comforting atmosphere, and is perfect for someone like my mom. It is a very open and friendly place built for socializing. We have been blown away with how nice and friendly everyone there is! My mom was resistant at first to the idea, but we felt it was important to get her in a place where she could socialize, and Whittier Place has been great!
Overall the experience with Whittier Place was decent. The staff does the best that they can. However, in my moms condition with dementia, her condition was far more advanced than other residents they have had and they have not always been able to offer the right level of service and assistance that I feel they should have been able to.
We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. This was a nice looking place overall, however, I was not a fan of their point based pricing structure. On the whole it seemed like her care would end up more expensive, and it the overall price also had the potential to go much much higher.
I'm really satisfied with Whittier Place so far. The interaction with my mom has been more than accommodating. They are very understanding. The facility is clean, very beautiful. The director of memory care is very nice. I would stay there if I ever needed care. So far so good.
There is a family feeling with the set up. Everyone is friendly and talk with you and your situation on a personal and understanding way. They are also concerned about safety and protection as all families are. Easy to work with. For a senior trying to adjust, there is a simplicity that makes it easier to accomplish.
