Our loved one first moved in on the memory care side and that was a very good experience The person who oversaw it was great, she really seemed on top of everything and was always very responsive. We had great communication with her. Now our loved one is on the assisted living side and we know there was going to be less oversight, but the nurse who oversees assisted living has been a little difficult working with, sometimes the communication gets lost regarding our loved ones medication.
The staff was so compassionate and friendly. They did a good job taking care of my loved one and tried to provide in-room activities for her. The communication was so good when it came to covid and keeping informed. I would recommend this community to others and already have.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with other families! We appreciate you taking the time to write!
I would recommend this community. The community has hired a full time activities director for the memory care floor. There are computer games for recognition, personal care like manicures, field trips, arts and crafts, and prior to COVID they would stop and get ice cream. The food is really good. The room is spacious for my loved one.

Thank you for sharing your experience with other families. As you know, a personal perspective is invaluable when choosing the perfect new place for a loved one.
I would recommend them, particularly if they are local. This is the spot to be. The food is excellent for me now. The room is fine for me, and excellent. I pay for it, and think they are pretty good.

Thank you! We are glad you are enjoying your time here in our community!
My father was a recent resident of Walden Place in Cortland, NY. We were pleased with his care during his stay there. The problem arose when my father fell and broke his hip. He required surgery and was in intensive care for a week. During that week it became clear that he would not qualify to return to Walden Place. We gave notice and removed his belongings on November 9, 2018. We were told by one staff member that we would be required to continue to pay for his room through December 9, 2018 even though for medical reasons he would not be allowed to return. When we questioned this policy another staff member told us we would not be required to continue to pay if the resident had vacated due to medical issues. My father has subsequently passed away and the family is being pressured into continued payment through 12/9/18. We were never told that a resident would need to schedule a fall, hip surgery and subsequent death to assure that adequate notice was given when vacating a room.
A lovely community, however it is not the local community I want. Very pleasant sales director and lovely residents.A fun environment.
The family is comfortable with our love one move to this community. She is doing great. We know she is safe, and in good hands. The experience is going well, and we are pleased with everything they have done for our family.

Thank you so much for sharing your confidence in us; we appreciate your review!
This community did not have an opening when we were looking for a place. I know someone that has a loved one living here and they seem to like it. The community seems clean.

Our goal is to provide a positive experience for the resident and the family when they choose to make a move to Walden Place. I will share your comment with our housekeepers they take a great amount of pride in keeping the building looking its best. I am sorry we were unable to accommodate your loved one when you needed to make a move. The openings can change sometimes in a short period of time, if we can still help please contact me at [removed].
My tour of this is community was a pleasant one. The community looked nice and clean. The staff was kind and very friendly. This is an assisted living community, and my in laws are still pretty independent. It was a good tour, but not the place for my in laws.
