Overall everything has been pretty decent, mom seems to like it other than maybe the food could use some improvement. Although to be fair I am never there when she is served her meals so can't say for certain.

Response from Vista at Simi Valley
September 23, 2022At Vista at Simi Valley, we give each resident a lot of attention and care because we value their happiness and well-being. We sincerely hope that our commitment shows in our residents' satisfaction. We assure you that the meals here are prepared keeping everyone's nutrition and preferences in mind, and we'll surely pass on your feedback to our concerned team. Thank you for your review.
Our experience has been good overall. I like the upper management. There can be communicative delays with maintenance requests such as WIFI issues in a resident's room or near their room. The food is good for the residents. The activities have been limited due to the pandemic. The community hasn't been able to take the residents out of the community due to the limitations of the pandemic, as well. There was a staff member that was able to see that the physical therapist wasn't as effective for my loved one as they could be. The staff member was proactive in getting another therapist and this really assisted my loved one's rehab experience and this was very helpful for the family as well.

Response from Vista at Simi Valley
August 5, 2022Hello, Gordon, thanks for the comments. One of our main goals at Vista at Simi Valley is to ensure that your loved ones live in comfort and security. We're happy to hear that we were able to accomplish exactly that. We will address your concerns regarding wifi in the best way possible so we can obtain the final star. We appreciate your support!
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The only problem is with the medication. Once they need a refill they reach out to the family and then the family has to place the order. It seems like there would be more interaction with the doctor that visits the community to assist with this need. My loved one loves the breakfast; however, the meals are generally good for the residents. Some of the activities include bingo, reading, movies, exercises, and more for the residents to choose from.

Response from Vista at Simi Valley
April 6, 2022The team at Vista at Simi Valley always strives for the highest standards for all residents and visitors. Our staff enjoys providing the best care to everyone, and receiving recommendations is the best part of our day!
We chose Vista at Simi Valley because it is on a piece of property next to the church that we have always gone to and also it is very close to my home. It seemed perfect in so many ways for my husband. They offer snacks and he can get seconds on meals if he wants them and we appreciate that. The staff are extremely friendly, kind, and accommodating. His clothes get mixed up often which is frustrating and that is the only complaint that I have had. I just love it and can't say enough about them.

The community is a simple and basic care place. The staff are friendly, but not highly trained in the memory care area. Some of the activities that are available are arts and crafts, social events, bingo, and more that the residents can choose from.

I think they're really good. I thnk they're doing a great job, and I foresee that as they get more residents, things weill get more interesting and exciting as there's more people to interface with. I undersand that Covid has put a really big stick in the pot too. I'm hoping that as more peole get vaccinated, they can do more excursions and give the residetns more of a chance to meet and greet and have better relationsihps. They're very clean right now. From outside it looks good, sometimes I get soem complaints from my loved one and I'm not sure hwo much stock to give to those. From what I see and the calls I've made with any concerns, they've defintely taken care of anything. ANd I would gi I think the staff is really helpful. The food in the begining seemed to be really good, and the last week or two it seems to hav gone downhill. So we're not surie if they've had a different chef or someone filling into cook. We'll see . I know they have an activiity room, but I'm not sure what activities they're doing right now. I personally have a seated exercise thing, but it's held by video on the TV and there's no staff there to help them. I realize they're just getting started, because htye opened in November, so they might not have everything lined up yet. I think the value is very good. That was a big reason we moved her from the last place.
