The people look happy and well cared for the renovations are going well. The rooms are very small and the showers are tubs with cut outs and no seats. the other 2 places have a snack area open all the time this one does not. Not much in the way of a games room and no pool for exercise.

Horrible place!!
The cleanliness of the resident rooms was appalling. Paid for every possible care that we could get for our loved one and strong evidence that it wasn't given!!
Do not put your loved one in here. They lack empathy and compassion and the level of care is nil to none.

We were not happy with The Richmond on any level!! No air-conditioning and had to pay for them to put it i the window. When moved my father in law in the air conditioner hadn't been installed, the room was stifling. The answer we got was they needed us to buy an extention cord. Would've been nice to have known that beforehand.
Due to covid he had to be in isolation for 14 days which we understood. He needed all the extra care available to him and we were more than willing to pay for any and all that he needed til he could be placed in a nursing home.
Because of covid we were unable to visit him for 14 days, which, again we understood. When we could visit he was always wearing urine stained and urine smelling pants among other things. We were beginning to wonder if the care we were paying for was actually being done.
He got infection several times and each time theyd send him to hospital and when he'd return he would go back to 14 days isolation. This happened 3 times. He was miserable living there.
The last time he was admitted to hospital for infection he never returned. It was not a good prognosis and when hospital Dr asked for him to come back to The Richmond, they refused to care for him anymore.
More time went by and he was put on a waitlist for a hospice as they were full. The decision was he was going to have to stay in hospital til he passed. So 2 weeks passed and he did just pass.
We went back to The Richmond to move his things out and we were told that we had to pay for another months rent as we didn't give them a month's notice!!! Are you kidding me!!! So heartless and no compassion. Went to his room and it was disgusting. It had ever been cleaned. The smell of urine hit us as soon as we opened the door. There were several empty water bottles under his bed and boxes of used medical supplies just laying on the floor. The carpet was disgusting. There were many straps of his meds in boxes as well. Was he even getting his meds.
Bottom line..I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE RICHMOND for your loved one at all!!!!!!

The manager gave us a thorough review of the residence and program. She took the time to discuss all our concerns and problem solve special issues. Seems like a wonderful environment.

A Warm and friendly welcome
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and made my mother feel at home. The facility was clean and residents looked well cared for and comfortable. The rooms are bright and there are large lounge areas and dining area to accommodate family.

May move rating higher after I have been here longer. Had some staff help moving in. It's taken time to get used to the different sittings times at meals. Meals are good but service is slow when staff is short-handed.

A very good Retirement Residence
My husband and I really like The Richmond. The staff is very helpful and courteous. The meeting we had with [Removed] was very informative. She was able to answer all of our questions. Upon registering my mother-in-law, the doctor was very patient and kind to all of us. We have dined with my mother-in-law at The Richmond and we both thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. We found the menu had good options. We have reviewed the activities schedule and agree that there is a lot of choices for the residents. The common areas are very spacious and comfortable. The Lower Level/activity room is comfortable and appealing.
My husband and I find The Richmond to be a very good Retirement Residence with a very fine staff.

This retirement home contrasted poorly with Amica. It was an older building with no sir conditioning nor WiFi. While it too offered similar meals, games area, it had fewer areas for the residents to enjoy, fewer facilities such as no pool. With about 85 residents it is much smaller and more intimate than Amica with its 200+ residents.Similarly priced it appears to be less of a bargain.My tour guide Marion was very engaging and helpful. She took steps to show me a variety of rooms.

The Richmond - Fabulous!
The Richmond is absolutely fabulous! The beginning of the journey was a complimentary lunch and lovely tour of the facility. The food was very good and the staff who served us were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. We observed this treatment not only with us but with the residents as well. There were many smiling faces and the atmosphere in the dining room was very relaxed. The tour allowed us to view all the various accommodations The Richmond offers. All of the common spaces were clean and tidy. Tea/Coffee/Cookies are available all throughout the day. All the activities that are available are unbelievable! There is no reason to be bored at The Richmond. They provide various religious services, movie night with popcorn, field trips to mention a few. Any questions we had, no matter how silly, were answered fully and with respect. The welcoming our father received was phenomenal.
