Terrace Glenn Village

My Mom has been a resident in assisted living for close to 3 1/2 months. My sisters and my Dad have been taking turns with her in her room for B/L/D as she needed a bit of support. Currently, she can eat some things on her own, but still needs assistance. She suffers from Dementia and Parkinson's. Due to swallowing issues, she has trouble with bread products and harder stuff such as raisins. My sister had been creating a menu with things crossed off and items circled for about 3 months. We like to work with her in the privacy of her own room. The last 2 months have been difficult. The staff is obviously NOT happy with our arrangement. There have been times when I had to request a different tray, as items were incorrect. As have my Dad at lunch and my sister at dinnertime. Staff has yelled at me with people in the dining room that I could not sit with my Mom. Even though my Dad and sister had been doing just that occasionally. Today, she could of choked & died on pancakes.

We were pleasantly greeted by workers who were walking by as we were coming in. At the front desk was a very friendly gentleman who kindly helped us get checked in. [name removed] met with us and fully answered all our questions. She gave us a wonderful tour of the campus saying hello to everyone we passed by name. The residents were very friendly. We were in great hands with [name removed] and felt very welcomed. The campus had a very homey feel.

The personnel at Terrace Glen Village not only provide the residents with food and shelter but it is the manner in which it is given that is significant. Personal make an effort to know each other residents by name. They show a kindness and willingness to be of help. The team has an office where one can ask assistance or how to approach a needy situation. No one need feel totally alone or unheard. There is a monthly gathering and residents and team to look at concerns and go forward. Many activities are planned monthly.

Moved in day one! No regrets. I'm not interested in facade and opulence. All I need is kindness and respect. Showered with both here.

1) Compassionate staff 2) Many varied activities, including trips to movies, plays, shopping, games, celebrations, birthday and anniversaries, including food at their celebrations. 3) Delicious meal choices, snacks always available 4) Generous sized apartments 5) Homey atmosphere in public areas 6) Fellow tenants support each other like "family" 7) Prayer services are available.

Great place to live.

My daughter and granddaughter found this place. My husband passed away in [date removed] and I moved here the last day of [date removed]. My daughter lives in My Vernon and wanted me close by. It was a big change for me but a good change! I am very happy here and made lots of friends here. I am thankful for my friends, family, and the Marion community. I previously lived in Victor IA and it is 1 1/2 hours away. Not always pleased with the food.

Very nice place, feel at home in my new home here. Good staff - good to all, very helpful and caring, feel safe and in good hands. Good food, lots to do if wanted. Can say all food things about the Village

Clean and attractive. Safe neighborhood. Good food. Layout of building. It's all inclusive - certain things don't require additional cost.

It is refreshing to feel that I have been treated with truthfulness and compassion not only since I moved into TGV but during the entire building process. Now my children do not have to worry about me.

It has been a pleasure to move into our new Terrace Glen Independent Living apartment! The attention to detail in every aspect has been top notch from the time we first met the Marketing Director, and later the rest of the team. Each and every person has been responsive to our every question or request. The apartments are spacious and filled with light. The food is wonderful and there are plenty of choices. Everything is squeaky clean and very pleasant. I can't think of anywhere else that we'd rather be living and I look forward to many happy days here at Terrace Glen Village.

All interactions, particularly with Director of Marketing, [name removed] have been exceptionally high quality. She usually has all the answers, or gets them for you and reports back. She is extremely pleasant to deal with. We have visited sister communities and have been impressed by friendliness of staff and residents.
