My Mom, has been at ST Charles Village or over 5 yrs.
Even through Covid the staff went beyond to keep residents safe. They always had time to answer questions and where always kind and caring.
I am a retired RN and I feel so safe knowing my Mom is there. They listen to requests to accommodate
special dietary needs. They provide many fun activities, such as exercise classes, games and musical guests.
The view from my moms balcony of the canal is truly amazing and she can walk the path on canal safely.
You are greeted but front desk staff who monitor and make sure everyone signs in and out. Also they have kindly let me drop things off which they have delivered to my mom.

Friendly awesome staff
My loved one currently lives at St. Charles Village and overall the experience has been great. They have been amazing and my loved one has improved in overall health and is happy here! The dining room is very nice, with a view of the canal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The move in was easy and convenient. The apartment is a great layout with a nice balcony. I would highly recommend St. Charles Village to others.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear your experience was not to your expectation. We do wish to share that over the 30 plus years we have operated, government agency reports that we have received from the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority and Niagara Public Health inspectors each have repeatedly stated “they cannot believe how clean our home is”.
Our residents love to sit and chit chat with each other and enjoy sitting in our common areas and large outdoor spaces visiting with other residents, family and friends. We do have scheduled activities planned; however, your tour might not have been during the time activities were scheduled.
Our main focus is ensuring that each resident is living their best life, being happy and safe here at St. Charles Village. We are extremely proud we worked tirelessly to keep Covid out of the building throughout the pandemic.
We have been voted one of the Three Best Rated Retirement Homes in Welland four years consecutively, along with winning Gold in the Reader’s Choice Awards for the past several years. While Covid impacted all homes in the area, we are once again rapidly approaching capacity and will have to resume our waiting list process for potential residents.
We welcome you to call us to discuss the reasons for your comments in more detail as we are always looking at ways to improve the wellbeing of our residents otherwise, we wish you the best of luck in your search and good health.

Home Sweet Home. St.Charles Village
My Mom [name removed]. passed 3 months ago at 97 1/2 years young.She resided there for the last 7 years of her life.
We( sisters and brothers ) have never seen her happier. She said it was her home and she loved it there. From everything to the cleanliness, the administration, the dining room dinners, the nursing, the recreational, our Family was SO grateful to entrust our Mothers care to St.Charles Village.in the 7 years of her stay, if there was something that she didn't agree with , she let them know .The staff did an excellent job of feeding her, taking care of all her needs so we as a Family never worried about her. Don't how how we can ever thank you for making her last year's on earth the best they could be. I would rerecommend Charles Village for anyone looking for their loved one.

The room is nice and bright, quiet and has functional kitchenette.
The staff from bottom to top are always caring and helpful in supporting our mother.
The meals are very good and our mom believes that they are similar to what she used to make.

Nice big apartments, not what [Removed] needs, she would benefit with a retirement home that has more activities. [Removed] doesn't need an apartment with a kitchen in it because she does not cook.

Happy for Mom
I am so pleased with my mom's choice to move to St. Charles. We toured some other homes and even though they were beautifully decorated we just didn't feel that sense of home where as with St. Charles it was a good feeling right from the start. We thought it would be a big adjustment for my mom since she had lived in her home for 62 years but the staff and the other residents welcomed her and let her know they were all there for her. I can't say enough good things about St. Charles. The meals are delicious with a lot of variety, the residents are all smiling, the location is great, the staff is knowledgeable and top notch. But the best point is that my mom is happy. I could see a change in her from the day she moved in. Just being with other happy people and knowing someone is there for her when she needs them has given her a safe and secure feeling. She also appreciates the idea of knowing she has her privacy when she wants it and can join in or relax on her own as she chooses. I am definitely giving St. Charles a 5 star rating.

Happy People
Francine Debbie and Christine are all very helpful and supportive. As with any new resident my mother was nervous and edgy about leaving her home after living there from the time it was built 49 years ago. When I go to visit her 2 weeks later she is never in her suite, she is visiting with other people or joining in an activity. She has shown remarkable improvement in her attitude and her ability to remain almost independent. All the residents help each other ( my mother is almost blind ) any everyone always is happy. I'm am very pleased with my decision to place her in St. Charles Village.
