I am extremely happy with Schooner! I was very impressed with cleanliness and the employees are so helpful and thoughtful! The front desk gals are GREAT!! Nurse [name removed] and [name removed] are amazing!! The housekeeper is perfect and works hard!! I think the food is outstanding. I would, however, suggest improvement of emergency transport to and from the hospital. And a service to be with the resident while at the emergency room and to make sure they get back home after, for those who do not have family or loved ones close by. But overall - great! I would recommend them to family and friends!... Read more

Schooner Estates is the best in the area, especially if you want to be close to your loved one. This has been the best community we have been to. The staff tries hard to meet all the needs of the residents. The communication with the staff is okay, it can be hard due to low staffing and sometimes the administrative staff isn't around in the evenings. There are three meals a day and served in a dining room. My loved one seems to enjoy the food offered. There are also snacks available for the residents.

my dad wasn't there that long bc of his health, he was only there physically for 15 days . I didn't dare leave him there because if he had another attack I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get him into a nursing home of our choosing. we had to move fast so that we could make sure he was in the right place for him. the only real drawback with Schooner Estates is that they don't have a skilled nursing unit.

This is a top notch professional place, and you can feel that your loved one is comfortable and well taken care of here. The staff are quick to respond to questions or concerns and they are responsive within 24 hours. [name removed] is good with checking in on the family every so often to make sure things are going well. My loved one enjoys the meals. They tend to change the menu so it is not the same thing served everyday. The monthly fee covers linen changes, laundry service, room, all three meals and light housekeeping as well. The community is able to assist my loved one with medication management, and more is offered, if needed. There are a lot of activities including bus tours the residents can participate in.

I think this is a nice community. They have caring staff with a nice environment. The staff are very responsive to questions or concerns about my loved ones. My loved one likes the food overall and my other loved one doesn't care of it. I would say it depends on the taste buds of your loved one if they will like the food or not.

My father moved into the Schooner Memory Care facility in October 2020. The staff were very friendly and informative. The facility had opened in May 2020 during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. It was a difficult time due to not being able to visit Dad in person, but the management did everything they could to allow window visits and/or phone visits to help us keep in touch. The programs offered for interactive or exercise activities were fun and gave the residents something to talk about afterwards. My Dad enjoyed the cooking and gained weight after a few months of being there. The Care Manager and the Aides for his neighborhood kept us informed of any health events that happened to him. They truly care about the people that live there. They were responsive to our requests or suggestions for his care to help them learn more about him in order to improve his experience. They maintained a safe and clean environment for all of the residents..

FANTASTIC PLACE! They are super friendly and very very professional. They are very welcoming. I definitely would put this place on the top of the list. I would of placed Mom there but after touring Market Square, the residents seemed more like my mom. The residents at Schooner seemed more independent than she is. I highly recommend Schooner! We could still end up there.

Everybody is very friendly and very accommodating. It's a clean, new facility. I really liked how it was structured - you have the different communities for different care levels, which is neat. And then each resident's door is a different color, with siding and a light outside each door, which makes it look and feel like they have their own little house. The whole process was very simple and went very quickly. I've been very impressed with the facility. My loved one has loved the food. It's been worth every penny.

The food is terrific and they have a variety of activities, Exercise groups, bingo, music programs, during maple season took residents out to get fresh maples syrup, Christmas rides, lunches out to the coast of Maine, outdoor picnics, specialty nights, movie nights, two libraries, game room, and other activities to engage any resident. The community assisted in giving off scheduled medicine for my loved one. They even assisted us in letting us borrow a wheelchair for an event my mom was attending. The housekeeping would come in and play with my mom's cat, when they would come in to clean. The cat loved it. The community knows all the residents names, and makes you feel like home.

We chose Schooner Estates Senior Living because it was the best value for our money and it was highly recommended. They offer all facilities if the situation changes, right now she is in independent living and the apartments are nice size. The chef really tries and they have to meet a lot of individual tastes with the food so I would give them a good score on food. The best part about the community so far has been the social aspect of it for her and they are very accommodating with family members.

The staff treat the residents like family . They truly care about everyone there. During this COVID experience, the staff have gone above and beyond having the residents best interest at heart. It has been an absolutely good experience for our family. We chose this community because we have had three other close family members live there, and we were always happy with it. They offer the continuum of care and that is extremely important to us. I wasn't sure if my in laws would qualify to get accepted to Schooner as an option ,but we were happy that they did.

What a wonderful, caring community. The staff are happy and experienced. If you need something just ask. What service! Large spacious apartments at a reasonable price. Great value! I am so impressed. I have become a daughter again, not a caretaker!

I really can’t put it in words how great the facility and staff are at Schooner Estates. I don’t know how they do it, but the staff from top to bottom exceeded all of our expectations. The activities and trips to scenic locations are what really pushed us to have my mom move here. My mother stayed at Schooner and this was the first time she’d moved into an assisted housing arrangement. There was some natural adjustment and acclimation to this type of living, but the staff accommodated her in every way.

After speaking with [Removed], on the phone, meeting him and having a tour, I knew this was exactly the type of community my cousin would thrive in. When she met [Removed] and other staff, had a tour and saw the first floor apartment that was available, met more staff at a barbeque we were invited to, she did fall in love. The facility, staff and most importantly the atmosphere convinced her that this is the community for her!

Response from Schooner Estates Senior Living
July 6, 2017Cecile, We will miss you! Good luck in Colorado! We loved having you living here with us!
Awesome facility! [Removed], who spoke with us, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging with the residents. From the moment I entered the facility, I could picture myself being here as a resident. From the groomed grounds outside, the layout of the various buildings, extensive activities, outstanding dining facilities and food, to the opportunities for resident interaction and safety and engagement, I just FELT like I--as well as every resident I observed--BELONGED there and was valued as a human being. I did NOT feel that I was just a source of income--as I felt at other facilities I visited!
