When I walked into Paramount Senior Living of Peters, we noticed that it was clean and bright, but seemed somewhat crowded. My loved one would not care for so many people out and about, as she is more of a private person. I think it really comes down to service. I did not get a chance to reviewed any type of service, but the facility was very clean and bright.

Our tour at Paramount was very good. We enjoyed it! I thought they were very nice. We ended up choosing a smaller community with a 3-tier assisted level care system. But we really liked Paramount as well. It was a hard decision.
We had a nice tour with Paramount Senior Living but we found the facility to be a little outdated.
We've had a good experience. The people are very friendly and helpful. Their staff seems to be pretty comparable in staff-to-patient ratio. On the weekends it could be better, but it's pretty good overall. When my loved one pushes her call button, she's seen in a pretty timely measure. And we get notified very quickly if something goes wrong. It's very expensive, but all in all, it's been a good experience. They have a lot of great activities. We feel she's safe there. And she is happy and thriving.

I don't’ know what the independent and assisted living is like, but the memory care wing was a horrid place. It's a locked wing on the 2nd floor. Any residents who weren't in their rooms were sitting in wheelchairs hanging over the side of them at the nurse’s station. There was nowhere to walk around or do anything. Some doors led out onto a balcony/patio, but there was no real outdoor space to move around in. It felt like they were in jail. I wouldn’t even consider that for my loved one. The room itself was really nice, and when you first walk in the main doors to the building, it's very nice and very clean. But there was no way we would place our loved in a memory care unit like this one.
Don't be fooled by the nice building and good sales job. Nursing is either understaffed or doesn't care, either way it results in very poor service. Typically response time to the call button was 15 to 30 mins and this was in the high acuity unit. Numerous other issues, such as her falling when they were helping her into bed, leaving her in the bathroom for extended periods, no bathing for almost a week. This was all in a three week period. Sent letter to the CEO advising him of the situation and culture at that facility.. never heard back. If you want top care for a loved one, find a different company.

We chose Paramount Senior Living of Peters Township because the facility itself was very nice, it was a great location, and what really stood out to me was there didn't seem to be people sitting around in wheelchairs at the entrance like some others we visited. The room sizes are big enough for his needs. My father loved the food and never complained about it while he was here. The best part about the community is the staff members all seem to know their residents well. I would recommend.

I loved this place for mom up until she started to run out of money, then it all went bad. To make it short, they transferred my mother to a facility with active Covid cases- why? I believe it was to lessen their workload of sending referrals out to other facilities (in a COVID environment this is a difficult process, especially when the majority of facilities were not sent the necessary referral package). Yes, we were desperately trying a find a place, but a decent place. After PSL sent a referral package to a location that we did not select/was not on our list, we did start talking to the location and letting them see if they would accept her (since the process was so difficult at this point due to COVID). We were still looking at facilities and spending hours talking to other facilities and sending the referral package from PSL ourselves - and we had three in process of consideration. Then they transferred mom, without verbal or written permission/approval for the transfer, into a facility that had just had active COVID cases (in total 109 patients and 40 employees since July)! They also sent her Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to the wrong email account. I have also heard that staff turnover is high at this location. With all of this, I can only give this place a one star.

We chose this community because my father knew the staff and he had been in the rooms. The room sizes were very spacious. There was a nice variety of food and you could always get other options from the menu if you wanted, but it was limited as far as dietary needs. My favorite part about the community is their activities coordinator, she really tries to get all of the residents engaged and knows the folks on a personal level. I would recommend Paramount Senior Living of Peter's Township.

I placed my relative in Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township six years ago. She is still there and has thrived in the warm and supportive environment that Paramount provides. It is an exceptional senior residence, always smelling clean, with caring staff and good tasting food. I frequently ask my relative if she is happy there and she confirms, "yes, this is a great place for me to live."

My mother lived here for almost 3 years in the dementia unit. There are some great staff members working with the residents ([names removed]to name a few) but they are always short-staffed, especially since so many of the residents in the dementia area require a lot of attention. When my mom first moved in, most of the other residents could walk, could feed themselves, etc. By the time I moved her to another facility (hoping she would get more attention) most of the residents were VERY helpless. They never increase the staff to reflect the additional time they need to spend with the residents. For example, there would be a nurse and 2 aides working most shifts, and those 3 people were supposed to be able to spoon feed probably 8 or 9 people who couldn't feed themselves any longer. The staff members were trying their best, but they always looked stressed out. They needed another couple of aides per shift to be able to help the residents in a timely manner and really give them the care they deserve. Upper management staff changed so often I couldn't keep track of them - there was always another "director" of this or that on the newsletter each month. They raised the rates a lot but never increased the staff, and at the end they started charging $250 per month for supplies which I can buy at Sam's for less than $75 a month - and this wasn't optional. You HAD to pay them the $250 per month for briefs, wipes, gloves, etc. Kudos to those staff members who keep showing up in those trying circumstances because they genuinely are trying to help the residents.

I am pleased with the care my mom is getting here, she is joining in the activities and likes going to the special events they hold as well. Mom enjoys going to the dining room and visiting with the other residents. The community is very nice with a courtyard and my mom is doing great here.

All of the nurses that I love have either left in the past couple of months or are retiring in a few months. They are the main reason that I have left my Mother at Paramount. There have been some senior staff changes in the last few months (and they opened the skilled nursing section about the same time) and the place is not as nice as it was when my Mom moved in over a year ago. There are seldom any activities for the residents in the dementia area - they are often short-staffed so most of the staff are merely trying to get the residents fed and to the bathroom. They used to do more crafts, manicures, have monthly entertainment come in, went out to lunch at a restaurant monthly, and had snacks on Saturday afternoons. Now they barely manage bingo. It's depressing to see the residents just sitting in the halls looking at each other, especially when Paramount has raised the rates twice this year and there is no improvement in the level of care to justify the increase. I feel like the dementia residents are treated much differently than the other residents.

The entire staff at this community are friendly and accommodating. They are willing to do anything mom asks and they are happy to help; you never feel like you are putting anyone out when you make a request. The community is only 5 years old and is just beautiful, with pretty carpeting, furniture and art work. The building is in a U-shape with a courtyard with a fountain, and some wild turkeys roaming the adjacent hillside that are fun to watch. The admissions nurse Sandra is very caring, and still speaks to me every time I see her. The front desk is very efficient, scheduling hair salon and doctor appointments, visitor meals, residents leaving, guests coming & going, and so on. The food is good and they offer a beautiful private dining room without charge, serving their food or you can bring your own. There are daily exercise classes, bingo, ice cream socials and frequent entertainers that come in. Paramount Peters networks with other local providers (pharmacy, doctors, dentist, podiatrist, etc.) that share their kindly views toward helping the residents. Whatever outside service mom has needed, Paramount is able to help her. Mom is in her second month at Paramount. She, and the family, are very pleased and would highly recommend this community.
