I love the cozy atmosphere, and I feel safe and secure. I grew up in this area, and I’m close to my family who visit often. I’m amongst people my own age and I fit in. I eat breakfast lunch and dinner with my friends every day, what more could a man ask for? This is my home.

Bearable
As a friend of a person that lives at this location I feel I must let others know what is truly happening there. The most disturbing is the lack of "good" food. Protein is almost devoid of meal plates. Because of staffing issues, residents have hardly any choice on their meals and service is unusually long. Staff that have stayed on for years are now leaving due to inadequate pay and benefits.
Chairs in lounges have been urinated on and promises of having them recovered never happen.
The majority of the staff are friendly and do care about the tenants , however, I believe the management positions dont. It appears they are there to save as much money as they can even at the expense of the residents health and happiness. When residents bring forward a concern the standard answer is "we will look into that". Nothing ever happens.
There has been a water leak in the dining room for over 8 years, with ceiling tiles discoloured and missing.

Avoid at all Costs
Long Lake Chateau - "Atria Senior Living: helping people live better together.
We create caring, connected senior living communities where older people can live comfortably, eat well, explore their interests and enjoy the company of good neighbors." Further from the truth. Propaganda.
If you see anything more than a 1-star rating, they are all for prior to this pandemic.
They appear to be always short staff, the staff in the management office are extremely rude and not helpful (after [dates removed] - family member removed from this dump).
Prior to this COVID nonsense this place was great. The staff including office staff appeared to truly care for the residents, it had a family atmosphere. Now they could care less about the health and welfare of the residents. Services have dramatically decreased..
I have spoken to other residents recently who are there, and they too are looking at leaving, once they find a suitable affordable alternative.

A Great Place to Be
This is a great place. My mom really enjoys the community, and I would recommend Longlake Chateau to anyone looking for a community for their loved one.
The activities seem to have a good variety and opportunities for the residents to participate if they would like.

Kindly, accommodating staff
Was here in a bachelor suite for a couple of weeks post hip surgery in May of 2018. I found staff very accommodating. I needed someone with me for a couple of days and a mattress was supplied for her for that time as well as furnishing the suite for me for my whole stay
The food was great with lots of options, and a real event in the day. I liked that the main meal is served at noon. I found the two week stay very pleasant. Although there were many activities offered every day, I did not participate in much so have no real opinion.
I liked that my dog could have stayed with me.
Downside is that the short term stays are only if they have a suite available at the time and there is no nursing care .

No Regrets
3 months in and no regrets.
Living in a seniors retirement home is an adjustment after living in your own home. It takes about 3 months to settle in. Longlake Chateau is an amazing place. The staff are all top drawer and the fellow residents are varying..some use walkers, wheelchairs or not and all are interesting. I chose to come here and if you are reading this you may be considering a seniors residence..why wait. A positive attitude is the most important thing you can bring. No car? No worries. There is bus runs 5 days a week to take you to all your appointments, your bank, shopping malls, excursions twice a week. I found I liked it better with each passing day. I feel fortunate to have been directed to Longlake Chateau. No need to look elsewhere.

Nice but could improve.
They are quite nice there. The challenge is the constant yearly increase of monthly rent. Average $200. Should have a much more updated place with those increases.
The food is nice. The cleaning and serving staff are wonderful. Slow to fix issues in apartments

I toured the facility on Feb. 7th. The location is ideal - there is a mall with liquor store, grocery store etc. right down the street, plus a library and restaurant right across the street. I found Long Lake Chateau to be a welcoming happy place and the residence seemed happy. The building and apartments are a little older and are showing their age but were clean and well kept. The one bedroom apartment was very nice - bright and large. The private dining room is a great feature as are the views of the lake. My Dad is seriously considering moving to this facility.

A place that is welcoming
My dad is in the process of moving in this weekend. Our tour showed how warm and welcoming the Long Lake Chateau is. You call tell how happy the residents are by going in during meal time. Everyone is lively and chatting. Such a great feeling. The place is clean and the staff appear to really care. I talked to a few of the long term residents and the all spoke highly of living there.

Outstanding Community
This is an amazing community, and my father is doing very well since his move here. He has adjusted very well to this community, and I'am pleased with all they have done for us. The community looks great, they do a great job with the cleanliness of the place. The staff is wonderful. I'am very impressed with them. They have many activities offered for the residents. It has been a lovely experience, and I would recommend this community.

My in-laws moved here 3 months ago. The managers have been really good with a very difficult move. The other staff have been good as well. My in-laws enjoy the trips and have made new friends.
