John Knox Village

We chose this community because they were able to offer many amenities at an affordable rate. I would absolutely recommend to others.

They have been in business a long time. There was a sense of "we know how to do this". It was also closeby, my mother is in memory care at a different facility. And, one of your staff recommended it. We drive past JKV once a week, so we have seen it from afar.

My loved one is currently a resident John Knox Village and overall everything has been good for him so far. They have connections for doctors and lots of care options. The staff is friendly and the food is good. The units are average and showing signs of age. Overall, not bad for your value, but there are a lot of newer options in the KC area. Ultimately yes, I would recommend John Knox Village to others.

This community is another universe from where was living beforehand. But for "A Place for Mom" recommendation to check-it-out, I would never have conceived that I, financially, would ever been able to live here - because, in this area,the conventional wisdom is that it's very expensive. Turns-out I'm paying less than I was at my previous Senior Independent Living facility (which had degenerated over the more than five years there, to having such disregard for its residents, that it's conduct should, perhaps , be classified as a form if elderly abuse!) - and getting so much more here.

The friendliness of the staff gets a 5++++ and even with the community being quite costly, they do a great job there! With the meals - the quality is good and tasty food, but just looking forward to having them hire no staff so that the restaurants can be open more often!! Based on the experience we have had so far we would absolutely recommend John Knox Village to other families.

Very very happy with John Knox Village so far! I would recommend to my friends and family. The admission staff continues to check in on him even after getting him as a resident. That means a lot to me.

We picked this community because, other family members did research and found this place. It's a good place to be. They are short of staff sometimes, so the rooms is not always as clean. My advice, to others looking into this facility is, you would enjoy coming hear and being with the people.

Staff is always changing. Very disorganized. Family interaction is needed to keep them accountable

Our family has visited this community many times - their food seems like buffet styled food they get out of a can and reheat, it does seem like home cooked meals. The community is very spread out and the lay out of the rooms were just not great

I toured John Knox Village and I was a little surprised that my mom chose another community. John Knox Village was bigger, like her previous community in Illinois. They had more people, more restaurants, and so much more going on. She said she chose [community name removed] because, "it was more homey".

I would recommend John Knox Village to others for their loved ones. The community has quite a few male residents and has made my loved one feel more comfortable being in the community. The staff are wonderful to work with the family. They are always available and willing to explain anything the family asks.

This has been a really good transition for my loved one. The staff has been really good at answering any questions the family had during the transition, and I don't feel there were any surprises. The staff have been good at answering the questions, since my loved one moved into the community as well. They are responsive in getting back to me with answers, as well. The have scheduled activities everyday for the residents; however, not everything appeals to the residents. It would be nice to see more variety for engaging the residents into activities. The meals are served three times a day and there are snacks for the residents to utilize as well. There are options for the residents to chose from. The community is good about checking on the residents to make sure they have eaten. My loved really enjoys the pie here.

I have been very pleased with them and have no complaints. I have access to the staff, and they respond back if I have questions. The apartment is always picked up and cleaned. He gets reminders for baths and things like that. It's our first experience with senior living, but we've been pleased.

My loved one really likes it here, and my loved one has had friends over for meals. I would highly recommend John Knox to others for their loved ones. There is a lot of people I know that live here and they are all pleased with it. Linen cleaning and changing, a meal plan, transportation, utilities, and the apartment that are included in the monthly fee. There are laundry facilities near my loved one's room, and they have a full kitchen in the apartment. The community has activities for the residents to choose from.

I would recommend John Knox Village to others for their loved ones. There is a lot of inclusive items for the residents to use. It feels like a little town because everything is right there, except groceries. There is a beauty salon on site, a dining room, and more. My loved one enjoys bingo, exercises, puzzles, and more for activities. The staff seem friendly when passing in the hallways.

John Knox Village made it so easy to pick this community for our loved one. On our tour they had so much patience with us and all the question's we had. The people were so nice and have continued to be so nice all the way from the management team to the maintenance team. It is also a good value for everything our loved one has.

Good community, more expense than anticipated.

I really liked the apartments here, they were very roomy. They seemed to offer a lot of great amenities and have a swimming pool. The location was just not the right fit for me.

This is a good safe place for your loved one. They have activities like bingo, cards, movie nights and more for the residents to do. There is something new every week to keep them entertained.
