Dad Is Doing Well
This agency was helpful in my time of need. I began with this agency first and I was not disappointed. The staff provided housekeeping, companionship and personal care. The agency gave their best for my dad and I would give them all 5 stars. It was a good experience for my family.

Spoke to the Director. Been in busine...
Spoke to the Director. Been in business since 1994 with many of the same caregivers...very low turnover. Her caregivers are mostly certified nurses assistants. Would want mom and dad to interview/meet the recommended caregivers to ensure comfort/fit. Can easily find somebody with a catholic background. There are strong feedback loops between the caregivers and the "office" to ensure that the right type of care is being offered/ recommended. Said that if mom is walking around all day she'll need 3000 calories a day. Suggested a fiber supplement to keep regular...and another for appetite enhancement. Said it's important for us to keep bathing my mom so she does not become afraid of the water. If a caregiver is sick or on vaction, she would call my dad with options; typically patients skip a day of care. The Director was very good on the phone and sounds like she prides herself in making strong "matches" with patients and her caregivers. Licensed, but no workers comp (covered by homeowners policy) she said that she has NEVER had a homeowner's claim with one of her employees...and they are providing more than 20,000 hours of care per month. Also, they are not bonded...claims that the notion of being bonded in this line of work is "old-fashioned" and not necessary. Don't withhold taxes, but provide summary statements to caregivers at end of year so they know how much tax they owe etc...so patient's family does not need to worry about this. The caregivers are independent contractors that pay their own taxes. The agreement that Dad would sign with Home Care Network acknowledges that he is hiring an independent contractor through their agency. Dad can keep copies of all the timecards and may be able to use them for medical deductions on his own taxes.
