Great Place for the Value

My dad was a resident at Holiday The Regent. The staff is very nice and helpful. Even though this is Independent Living, they keep a close eye on the residents. The people living there sometimes don't seem the happiest, but that's not the staff's fault. The housekeeping is consistent, but they only do linen change over and basic wipe down unless you ask them for other things like vacuuming. The maintenance team is a bit understaffed, so some requests can have slow responses. The facility itself is clean, but in need of an update in the rooms. However, one of the advantages of the facility is that it is actually affordable for more people. A major update would likely make the cost go up. Their transportation service is amazing. They go above and beyond to help residents get to appointments. The biggest thing to know is that residents need to be willing to advocate for what they need. The staff will help them figure it out, but it's not Assisted Living, so the residents need to speak up. I also really like that after the first 3 months, the leases are month to month. No huge buys ins. It makes flexibility possible. I would recommend this facility to others.... Read more

Our families experience

Upon arrival day no one seemed aware that we were even coming we had a long waiting period to even be shown to our uncles room and it seemed very disorganized. Most areas that I saw seemed very clean and well-kept, room housekeeping was a little lacking used food trees with stack up and garbage did not get emptied in a timely manner. Staff was generally friendly and welcoming after the first initial day. There seem to be a lack of staff that we were assured that would be available to address our uncles needs I feel they feel very short in that category. In the time my uncle was their meals were only being delivered to rooms because of the Covid outbreak, the portions of food seemed extremely small for an adult but they did always offer extra fruit, Drinks or snacks. Meals were delivered in a timely manner Cannot comment in the short amount of time my uncle was there residents were quarantined to their rooms because of a Covid outbreak and did not participate in any activities. Between down payments being required to pay three months in advance and the cost of moving our uncle in and ultimately back out of the region the cost was a big waste of money for the short amount of time that he was there.

Overall a nice community with friendly staff

Overall everything is good - I came here from another community that was trying to raise the rates and the value here is much better, I really like my apartment, it has been recently remodeled. Based on my experience we would absolutely recommend this community to other families. There are good people here

A wonderful place to call home

My kid’s great grandma [name removed] lives at Regent for over 10 years! We enjoy having lunch with her on Saturday while the pianist, plays classical music an hour before lunch. Over the years we get to know many residents, mangers and staffs at Regent. When kids are home during holidays, go to Regent to have lunch with great grandma would be one of the favorite activities during kids visiting home. Our family love the 3 course wonderful lunch at Regent! The service staffs always make us feel welcome and appreciative. Great grandma enjoys the many activities Regent offers: bridge, poker, gym to exercise, movie matinee, field trips and shopping trips … Regent often invites residents family for a free lunch at the facility with our love one during holidays! My husband and I thought Regent would be a great place to move to when we are ready!

Financially Ethics Low

My mom lived in the Regent, Corvallis, for eleven years. After suffering a stroke which required a move to a assisted living center I cannot get them to refund her "security Deposit". Contract clearly states "deposit may only be used by the landlord for non-payment". She was current in all payments. After a time period of six months I cannot get my mom's refund, calls locally and emails are to no avail and rarely returned. I wonder how many families deposits they financially keep capitalizing on their senior residents. Tremendously disappointed and recommend you considering another facility.

Rent goes up every year and services go down. Very small portions of food. Cold food. Poor management. Poor housekeeping. You can complain all you want - no improvements. This is a very shady business. Not just this location, other companies too.

Review of The Regent

Although on the experience side, The Regent is a great place to live. Staff and employees are cheerful and helpful. We are disappointed that several of the selling points that caused us to choose The Regent no longer apply such as managers on premises 24/7 and a change of chicken breast as a permanent option.

1) [name removed] (the manager), [name removed] and activities coordinator have done a fabulous job during the COVID lockdown. The food is good. Facility well-maintained. I know my mother is well taken care of. The only complaint is the annual 6% rent increase, makes the cost higher than new tenants, unfair.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday The Regent 8.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
