Located just off Portage Street is Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan's Washington Square Co-op Apartments, which specializes in senior housing. A private van or bus service makes weekly trips into town for shopping and other activities. Within walking distance, you can find the Bronson Hospital, grocery stores, Kalamazoo's historic library, and farmers market.
A staffed office handles residents' concerns, but because these are co-op apartments, the staff here is minimal. There is a private van for building to building transport, to take residents around the property from their apartment to activities and back again. The staff is receptive and caring, and there is always an answer for the emergency pull cord in each unit.
