I was looking for the family feel. So it was perfect for us! The big places weren't for us. I describe it like a hotel/cruise ship experience! We would recommend this community to other families!

We have a long-term patient here at Brookdale Murrieta. I have been very impressed with the level of attention she has been receiving as her daily assistance has increased drastically. She has been receiving a very personal touch.

Our family had an in person tour with Brookdale Murrieta, and it looks like a really nice and beautiful place. We liked what we were able to see on the tour as well as the staff members we met with.
The staff members here are very good, professional, compassionate and treat everyone with dignity. The medication management is on time and they have a great system that documents everything. They are lacking in staff just like everybody else - however even with them being short staffed if someone is not up to their standards they do not stay. They want to make sure they are hiring the right type of staff to care for the residents

I toured this facility and it was great!
Caring staff and available to communicate with the family... if family is unable to be with parents at their whim. Able to handle changing conditions as elders decline and encourage socializing and participation. The only negative was the ability to schedule transportation for necessary appointments. This proved difficult so outside transport had to be arranged. Overall they were very easy to work with.

I think that they needed more staff for the level of care that my husband needed. It was not the right fit because he needed that more individualized care that I thought was given to him during his stay here. They told us he would get that when we signed up, but he did not. He did not get any showers while he was here which was very disappointing. There were certain staff that were nice and attentive, but some you could tell did not care about the residents at all. If your loved one has a lot of needs, I would not recommend the facility.

Response from Brookdale Murrieta
June 8, 2022Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents. Your feedback has been shared with our management team for review.
Brookdale Murietta is a nice friendly community, but the price is just ridiculous. My loved one is not able to use any of the amenities and I am still being charged for them. For visitor parking, there are only 6 spots. They park the shuttle van in one spot and the executive director takes the other, so virtually there is no other parking close by at all. We have to park far away and that makes it very hard especially for those in wheelchairs.

Response from Brookdale Murrieta
May 24, 2022We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and hope you will contact our management team to further discuss.
The staff were all extremely friendly and we liked the look of the facility, it was just not the right fit for my mom.
Our family had an in person tour and the staff we met with were very receptive, and they did a great job taking us around the community and showing us all the amenities. However, the community itself was not going to work for our loved one, it seemed more dark and depressing.
The community overall is very clean but I would like to see the rooms cleaned more. Overall this community is the best around here. The staff is very sweet and does a wonderful job. I would recommend this community to others

The more independent the person is the less it costs. Pay attention to how the charges work because it can be confusing. They are transparent with the process. just do your research. they are very engaging and are taking great care of my aunt. I would recommend this community to others.

They have always worked well with me and have kept fairly informed. The biggest complaint from my dad is that because he has limited vision he wants people to tell hi things, but he won't ask. He wishes the staff were a lot more proactive in communicating with him. My dad is pretty happy with the food. I would recommend this community to other families.

While the surroundings are beautiful and the staff is outwardly caring and attentive, the reality is that the residents are being taken advantage of when it comes to the fees. My mother has been living there for several months now and every single little thing is charged and comes at a PREMIUM cost. A 2 mile drive to the doctor? $80.... an Uber ride would have been less than $10. From day one we have been told "we will do this and we will take care of that" but when it comes down to it these things are NOT being done and the staff does not seem to communicate with each other at all so you end up chasing down one person after another to get the right information. Initially my mother needed full care but we were told she would be re-evaluated and the fees would come down a month after she moved in. FALSE. My mother gets dressed on her own, gets in and out of bed on her own, walks everywhere on her own yet she is being charged over $500 a month in services that she is NOT receiving. There is no recourse to get this changed and we get the runaround when we try to get answers. Nobody wants to take ownership. DO YOUR RESEARCH before setting foot in this facility. Make them put EVERYTHING in writing because in the end they will say, "oh that is not accurate, you were misinformed." This is a racket. How truly sad for elderly residents to be completely scammed out of their life savings.

My Ninety-four year old Mom has been a resident at Brookdale Murrieta for about two years and she has been very well taken care of. Good food is served at every meal, with room service when residents are not able to make it to the dining room. There's always an abundance of activities from the ever popular Bingo, to arts and crafts, technical learning on computers and phones, movies every evening, off campus trips to shop, musical entertainment, holiday meals, health and exercise classes, and many more. If you ask any of the residents they'll tell you they'd rather be young and independent, but I know from experience with my now deceased Father's assisted care experiences that Brookdale is a great place for adults in need of their services, and also a good value.

I moved my dad into Brookdale. He is doing very well there as it is not as large as his last Assisted Living and his room is located nearer to the entrance so he gets checked on more often. He is 86 years old and actually gained 7 pounds since he arrived in late December so I guess he is eating well. He attends most of the center's activities which keeps him very active both physically and mentally.

I saw nothing wrong here and they are excellent for those who are in more better condition. There offer more amenities that my parent would not be able to use.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Murrieta 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
