My mother-in-law moved into Bellaview right when it opened. With all the issues surrounding Covid-19, we were a little nervous about putting her anywhere. They have been BEYOND careful with the residents and we feel she is safer there than she would have been with any of us. The facility is brand new, light and bright, beautifully decorated, and the rooms are definitely larger than most we saw (we looked at about 12 other places in person). We love the large outdoor patio in back. The people working there are kind and attentive. We have been particularly impressed by the activities director who has really been quite inventive in spite of the Covid limitations, and the nurse who has been so thorough with her diabetic protocols. One of the reasons we chose this facility was because it was just opening. My MIL isn't the most social person and we were concerned that it might be difficult for her to break into already established social groups. With everyone going in at the same time, we avoided that because everyone was new. Interestingly, my MIL had been living with family prior to this and had always maintained that she did NOT want to go to a facility of any kind. Since arriving, she has now informed us that she NEVER wants to move back in with family. She has peers and friends like she hasn't had in a long time, feels like she has more control of her life, and strangely thinks she has more independence. She has only been there a few months, but so far, Bellaview has exceeded expectations.Reviewed on SeniorAdvisor.com
