My mom was in Autumn Leaves of Edmond, OK for two months before her passing. Her level of care seemed to be good - The doctors, nurses, and aids were all good to her. She did fall four times in those two months and the last time broke her hip which led to her passing. I have been trying to get a refund from Autumn Leaves and parent company J&M Family Management for over four months for a direct deposit that was made the following month of her passing. I have talked to numerous people including the CFO and still no resolution. In my opinion this corporation is having financial problems which would lead me to believe that these facilities might also be running low staffing and cutting corners where they can which could affect resident care. I would definitely do a thorough check of the facilities and staffing before your admitting your loved one to one of these facilities and would highly recommend that you do not use the direct deposit method for payment.

While Autumn Leaves is a nice facility and functions well, they lock the residents out of their rooms during the day. They also don't allow them to go out into the garden areas because they don't want to watch them. It is very important for people to be able to out into the sunshine to absorb vitamin D which is good for cognition. The residents also don't talk or communicate with one another AT ALL. If your loved one is still able to hold a conversation, this may not be the best place for them. If they only need physical care, this is a very nice facility.

I was looking for the right home for my mom and when I toured this community I saw good qualities. It was clean and nice looking but not exactly what we wanted. I feel she would not be quite as active as we liked.
