Mom passed this Jan, the Banyan was a great experience, Mom just didn't really want to be anywhere but with her family. So for recommendations I would suggest the Banyan Residence. It really was a great place.

The home health agency that they contract with sucks. They are unresponsive, don't answer phone messages, and don't follow through on things that they say they will do when I have nailed them down. It's ridiculous. I think people need to consider the health care provided through the facility which is so important. It, unfortunately, didn't occur to me at the time.

Overall experience has been positive. Only from what I saw on zoom and my dad's reports the facility is clean The staff is very friendly and kind. Quality of care is adequate. My dad enjoys the meals and had filet mignon and ice cream which he loved! Lots of activities each day and trips to attend. Cost is affordable. Unfortunately , we did have to pay a steep fee upfront which you do not get back.

A Great Place for my mom
Never envisioned having to put my mother in a senior care facility so I was very cautious. Banyan was second on my visitation list, however, anyone else needing to make the decision for a family member should go here first and save yourself time in searching. The place is beautifully designed for care, comfort, and security I was searching for. My mother has been there almost a month and every person I have met from the director down to maintenance and housekeeping personnel are courteous, caring, and dedicated to making a nice living experience for all the residents. It is always clean and has a daily schedule of activities that keeps residents living in a lifestyle that keeps them active. Physically and mentally. There is a movie theater room, library, beauty shop, ice cream parlor, exercise and therapy room, dining hall, and a very nice Koi pond where my mother has to go several times a day to feed the fish. Make this your first stop when looking for senior care!!

Good and bad
They do many activities- however the employee turnover is very high. I think they overwork their good employees until they quit. If I wasn’t there every other day to make sure things were being done correctly I hate to think what would happen to my mother who suffers from severe dementia. She was ambulatory when she arrived last April but by December she was full in a wheelchair as the sensors that were supposed to alert the staff if she got out of bed in the evening were never turned on. So she walked out of her room at 10pm and fell on the concrete- I was notified the next day around 730. They said she had an X-ray 2 days later they said she had not had an X-ray. Communication is lacking

I advise anyone interested to visit
The staff are patient, kind, helpful, and proactive. The setting and size of the facility feels more like a tropical resort- the beautiful secure outside space is amazing- allowing my Dad to roam safely and allowing my mum peace of mind about his safety. The entire facility has a security fence around the perimeter- allowing the residents to roam and have outside time freely. For our family, the small size is a big plus- every staff member that I speak to knows my parents- they are greeted by name- by staff wherever we are in the facility. Banyan is unique in that a Memory Care resident and an Assisted Living resident can live in the same unit- that was the number 1 request from my mum. I give this facility my highest recommendation.

This is still a learning process for our family. The staff are very receptive to our questions, concerns, and feedback. The food has been pretty good when I have be able to enjoy a meal with my loved one. Some of the care they are able to provide include medication management, dressing assistance, and hygiene care. The dressing assistance and hygiene care could be improved a little bit. Overall, this is a good community for a loved one.

Very Nice
My parents just love it here. Most everybody is pretty friendly. The care has been good, and the owner has been on top of things. If you tell him something, he takes care of it. You can always go to him if you have any problem of any kind. The cleaning woman is wonderful and keeps everything spic and span. The nicest thing about A Banyan Residence - and the reason why I chose it - is that instead of the rooms opening into a hallway, they open into a courtyard with a nice garden. There's a koi fish pond feature, and every time I go there to visit, I always see people meticulously caring for the garden. Every place has some room for improvement.
Really the only thing I don't like is they have set meals every day, although they will give you something else if you ask. Overall the food is decent, but it could be better. Mostly it just needs more variety. I like that our family is welcome to sit down and eat with my parents, and they don't charge you. I don't know of any other place that does that - every other place we looked into charges you to stay for a meal.

It's a great place to be. If I were to go anywhere, that's where I would want to go. However the staff is young, and I found out they did not not comply with state rules regarding my loved one's care. Otherwise it was a great place.

Would Recommend for Memory Care
Banyan Residence has been great. My family member is very happy in memory care there. I like the team very much. We live out of state, and they do a great job keeping us updated and in the loop. They seem to have pretty good activities. I like that they also have assisted living there, and there's some interaction between the assisted living residents and memory care residents. One area for improvement is the food. I would like to see them offer better options. Currently the food is often repetitive and unexciting.

Tour experience
A Banyan Residence gave us a magnificent tour, we absolutely loved it. My husband and I would most definitely move here ourselves. It does have a countryside location but stores are nearby. They offer a ton of amenities and the rooms are very spacious. We just did not feel personality wise that this was the best match for mom. You do have to walk outside to get places so it may be more suitable for those who are a little more independent.

My mother-in-law lives at beautiful community often and it is absolutely stunning!
Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and they have so many fun activities and entertainment going on all the time. The happy hour and corn hole games are a hit and really pulls in a crowd. The bistro and outdoor courtyards are a wonderful gathering place as well. The best part is that the residents are always saying how much they love living here and it's so heartwarming to see them having fun and making new friends. I highly recommend Banyan for anyone looking for a team that goes above and beyond while offering a luxurious, fun loving and caring environment that feels like home!

Definitely Worth Looking At
They have had a lot of issues with staffing. Some of the staff are very good. They are trying very hard to make it a high quality place. I do think they are trying. I would say to look at it and check it out. It's a very beautiful place.
