An assisted living community is a residential community which provides supervision, assistance, and care to healthy seniors who are not in need of skilled nursing services. Assisted living communities frequently provide chances for organized activity, care supervision, and aid with appointments and transportation. The Department of Health, Office of Healthcare Licensing and Surveys, licenses assisted living communities governs this community type. These provisions include observation of the resident taking the medication, an RN is responsible for the supervision and management of all medication administration, and removing the medication from a container. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include dental, assistance with transportation, social services, and assistance with obtaining medical. provide guidance to dietary staff in areas of preparation, service, and monitoring Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1915(c) waiver program called Assisted Living community Home and Community-Based Services.
